Pet hates in gyms

Two older ladies prattling on whilst one sat on the leg press machine this morning - after 5-6 minutes and no action, the PT came over and kicked them off, credit to him.

The top 40 dribble they play over the gym stereo, I forgot my ipod last night, listening to it demotivated me, and I had such a shit workout

Such a good point. I do not see the need for a gym to have Channel V on constant rotation at high volume.

Why not some heavy metal, classic hard rock or even...shock horror...complete silence?

It seems to me to be all a distraction for the senses to trick people into thinking they are actually doing something, when really they are taking it pretty easy at the gym.

Anytime Fitness member too? It's One Direction to Justin Beiber to some other neck yourself type music. I saw one film clip this morning from Maroon 5 featuring kids who were all depressed talking about their "feelings". I thought one lady was crying on the treadmill.

A pet hate of mine is the heroes who do super sets and can't put their weights back.

Channel v at anytime drives my mad. Only good thing is the amount of Florida.

I go to an anytime in the city and they play GIRL.com whilst the tv's play Chanel v.

Check it out

The only reason it bothers me is there are times I've really got to concentrate to squeeze out a last rep or whatever and I find the horrible music distracting. I'd prefer nothing but silence then if people want music they can use their headphones and phone or whatever.

It's not the music. I'd be just as annoyed if my favourite band was playing. To me its no different then someone yelling gibberish as I'm finishing off a set.

What's always annoyed me in the gym is when people do the over the top yells, groans, panting etc When doing/completing a set. As mentioned previously I'd be lost without my MP3 player, blocks out all the unnecessary noise and horrible music.

I'm watching a guy shrug 140 kilos but by shrug I mean pull the weight from the pins. I'm honestly worried he's about to hurt himself

I honestly don't know why people do shrugs to begin with, the upper traps are possibly the most over active muscles in the entire body.

I relocated to a PCYC gym back inNov2012, funny enough its where it all began for me as a 14y.o. back in 1985. I dont mind it at all, they dont play music but the TVs always play NRL replays, boxing replays,UFC replays even documentaries of all sorts.
There are a lot of loose tracksuit wearing hectics but they dont bother anyone and provide entertainment for me.Especially after a music festival weekend, the conversations are hilarious to listen to.Trying to out do each other with the bragging lol

Back at the gym after almost a year. Signed up at Anytime for the convenience.

Every machine had weights stacked on it this morning. I CANNOT stand people who don't put their weights away.

Or they put them on the incorrect weight rack - Ie 12kg where 2kg should be, plain laziness and absolutely no consideration for others.

People who put their towel and water bottle on a bench or machine then just stand near it doing bicep curls and you have to ask them to use it

The fat guy at the gym who is talking himself up and told the guy dead lifting 250 for reps that He was stronger. Give it a rest you knob. Your voice is annoying.
