Excellent financial result. Still way behind AFL in revenue but good to see significant growth. Good to hear Vlandys rhetoric on expansion, lets see if it becomes reality now, Ive heard it a lot of times in last 15 years.
I was enjoying reading everyone's fascination with me lolAnd there it is! Took longer than expected
The profit difference?
Our major competitor’s top staff pocket millions in salaries. Not for profit?I was enjoying reading everyone's fascination with me lol
sport is a not for profit situation, by all means build an asset base for rainy days but not at the expense of grassroots funding.
Being not for profit doesnt mean staff dont get well paid lolOur major competitor’s top staff pocket millions in salaries. Not for profit?

It’s an act of good faith and ethics not to overpay staff $millions in a not for profit. Accumulating assets to ensue a secure future for the organisation is one thing. Pocketing it and boasting about it is another.Being not for profit doesnt mean staff dont get well paid lol
The Mexicans will believe it as well. Fake numbers has worked with crowd figures and tv ratings for the AFL in the past.Watch AFL put a billion dollar surplus out now.
QLD afl participation is their newest blatant lie. It’s easy to prove if any journo can be bothered. The Mexicans will believe it as well. Fake numbers has worked with crowd figures and tv ratings for the AFL in the past.
its still lagging behind 5 years ago, and the announcement for future commitment barely reaches the 2019 level. Add your love for inflation on that and how we travelling?Grassroots funding has gone up, Well it is planned to when QRL and NSWRL get out of the way
AFL $90m
NRL $82m
Now work that as % of revenue
280 million net assets whilst funding clubs at 5 million over the capExcellent financial result. Still way behind AFL in revenue but good to see significant growth. Good to hear Vlandys rhetoric on expansion, let’s see if it becomes reality now, Ive heard it a lot of times in last 15 years.
Meanwhile back in the real world where you are trying to attract the very best to help grow the business........It’s an act of good faith and ethics not to overpay staff $millions in a not for profit. Accumulating assets to ensue a secure future for the organisation is one thing. Pocketing it and boasting about it is another.
You're funny, for years you've slated AFL for funding clubs large amounts, now NRL is doing it you think its best thing ever.280 million net assets whilst funding clubs at 5 million over the cap
half the afl clubs don’t even get funding over their cap
Certain afl clubs get funded very wellYou're funny, for years you've slated AFL for funding clubs large amounts, now NRL is doing it you think its best thing ever.
Actually if you took all their club funding and avgd it out per club its pretty much on par with where NRl is at now (AFL $18.7mill in 2022, NRL $18mill in 2023). There isnt much difference in total amount, just they have a different model, giving to those who earn less rather than everyone gets the same.Certain afl clubs get funded very well
the rest don’t
every rugby league club is funded well
the afl can’t afford to fund its club like ours are
they would go broke
if you don’t want to be accused of being an afl lackey then stop behaving like one. The NRL has done an amazing job building its asset base, regrowing its participation funding and cutting back head office expenditure. That is honourable and a huge achievement. Vlandys and Abdo have done a great job. The money being ploughed into junior development as a % of income is substantial and higher than the afls. And we’ve done as a not for profit without paying our CEO and other staff millions of dollars. Stand up for the game for once mate.Meanwhile back in the real world where you are trying to attract the very best to help grow the business........
Because both sports have the same salary capActually if you took all their club funding and avgd it out per club its pretty much on par with where NRl is at now (AFL $18.7mill in 2022, NRL $18mill in 2023).
