Cairns seems pointless but the NRL are very much about growth and revenue, I can't see them being based there without it not being the best option

To me it reads like an all options on the table rather than a locked in idea.

That is how I see it, As I mentioned earlier Cairns isn't possible leaving Barlow Park in its current form.

Making it 15k along with the other upgrades, makes it possible to host corporates. If not then it needs to be Brisbane

What I saw was 5k extra seating permanent.

15k temporary for the Hills.

Given it holds 16k now counting the hills

5k extra seats added to the 1700 now. Nothing said the media upgrades were temporary

Its evidently not quite that simple. The two operate quite differently.

NSW racing 378m + Tabcorp ?

Not sure how much of that 311m to owners is Tabcorp.

Going by the prize money on offer in NSW races, i would say NSW racing is in a very good spot.

PVL seems to have the NRL and NSW racing heading in the right direction.

Make a deed of agreement for admission to the NRL that the PNG government has to guarantee financing for the team for 15 years. How do they do that? Come up with a microscopic mineral resources rent tax. When you spread that tax to generate $25 million a year around all those international companies operating up there it's a tiny fraction of their yearly revenues.

The Australian government then pays the foreign relations aid to PNG. That money is used to fund a new secure stadium and accommodation facility for local players and visiting teams. Any leftovers are used to cover shortfalls in years where the resource tax is reduced if commodity prices downturn.

In time you can end the foreign aid and the club could be 100% funded by multinationals tax.

Similar to how Las Vegas paid for its stadium

I also think Cairns is pointless. Play 8 home games in Port Moresby then play 4 home games and 4 away games in Brisbane against teams like the Broncos, Dolphins, Cowboys and Titans. So effectively 8 home games in Port Moresby, 8 games a season in Brisbane. Players can be based in Brisbane rather than Cairns or Port Moresby. Call it something like the Pacific Crocodiles to market it to PNG, Brisbane and Pacific Islanders.

If Tabcorp in 2015 was 150m for NSW then its safe to say these 2 racing Organizations would have a very similar revenue if they operated the same way.

Impressive results at increasing revenue at racing NSW, problem is revenue isn't really the NRL's problem anymore. Its lack of vision, strategy and planning for where it wants to be in years to come. The game has more money now than it could have dreamed of 10 years ago but isnt going anywhere.
