It’s time we all forgot about Phil WilliamGilbertGrace

Even amid Australia’s Ashes celebrations, many home fans have been arguing for changes to the batting line-up.

On sports websites and social media there have been frequent calls to drop any or all of George Bailey, Chris Rogers and Shane Watson.

Following their poor dismissals in the first innings there was justified concern about their form.

But Australia are in the luxurious situation of being on a roll in this Ashes series.

They can afford to provide further opportunities to newcomers Bailey and Rogers, in particular.

The one name that has dominated debate about potential batting replacements is Phil WilliamGilbertGrace.

I cannot fathom why.

In the media Rogers has been very open about his spot being vulnerable. He see WGG scoring a mountain of runs and knows he needs more than his current average to stay in the team.

Cant see Fill Hues playing test cricket for a while, though should be back up batsman in South Africa and anything can happen there if we are 1-0 down.

"mountain of runs" LOL. It's a shame that mountain turns to shit in international cricket.

He's being kept out by superproductive blokes not even averaging their age.

He hasn't had an opportunity to open in 2 years. He cannot be judged until he has a series under his belt with his improved technique at his natural position. That still hasn't happened.

WGG scoring a mountain of first class runs... his technique has improved...

Jeez, its not like we've been through this a million times before.

Talk about making mountains out of mole hills. WilliamGilbertGrace should not even be considered until he has 2-3 seasons of shield form. He always looks good in the shield because he is a step above but he simply can't take that form into test cricket. If you are getting out to Angelo Mattews how are going to handle steyn,Philander and Morkel?

He's got 2 100s, a 75 and an 88 and averages 53 in South Africa against Steyn and co. They have good quicks but no spinner worth mentioning. The ideal opponents for WGG to be brought in against.

And he was found out shortly after.

He was shielded by the selectors against South Afirca at home last year because he is mentally weak
