Please lose Hewitt and Molik!!

If people had something to whinge about in regards to Hewitt's life off court like they can with The Poo then they wouldn't be worried about what he does on the court.

The kid is up there with Agassi as one of the best returners in the game and few since Michael Chang have had the speed on court. Good on the kid for getting his home crowd into the game and good on the crowd for supporting him. He pumps himself up and enjoys himself. The only good thing about Australian tennis at the moment is Molik and Hewitt and now people want them to lose.

Agassi, Connors, McEnroe, Courier....... all have carried on at times during their careers and Lleyton is the next of a long line. Opposing players are picking up on something to justify their loss when they just should have played better tennis. The Australian public who are jumping up and down - its purely and simply the tall poppy syndrome. Our tennis players are supposed to do ok, win a few matches here and there and clap and cheer their opponent - because its the right thing to do. Well people playing nice doesn't win tennis grand slams. He is our most successful player since John Newcombe and is still only young....... Newcombe was just as brash and just as passionate and was one of the best.

As for having a go at Molik. Since winning the bronze at the Olympics, she has gone from strength to strength. She is our best female tennis player of the past 20 years and she hasn't been around very long. Your call for her to lose is just poor form benny....

roddick will take care of hewitt and IF hewitt gets thru that Federer will repeat the scoreline in the US open of 2004.
Couple of 6-0s in there i am hoping.

If it goes to five sets I doubt Roddick will get through. He hasn't had the big matches to prepare him. Hewitt will be tired but he is used to griiting it out.

I don't doubt that Federer should realistically wipe the floor with Hewitt. He has to make the final first.... ;-)

Fed Ex has gotta get throu Safin first and thats no easy feat.
weather hewy goes on any further is irrelevent now, he is injuried and hurting, playing against A-Rod, it going to be tough to win but if anyone can grit it out, its hewitt but even if he doesnt he can hold his head high, he showed the passion and courage of the true australian attitude.

C'MON LLEYTON, FIRE UP!!
SEND THE A-ROD PACKIN!

Safin will push, if not beat, Roger Federer tonight.

And about Molik, Colonel, she's been playing professionally for 7 years, thats not a short amount of time, hehe.

there are no excusses but he clearly isnt 100%
beating Roddick is hard when your at your best, let alone injured, so it will be hard for Hewy to pull it out, but with the Aussie crowd behind him and the entire country bar a select few un-australian pricks like yourself ( :p ) he can and will do it!

Lleyton!

i am australian, and cheer for australian in most things, but Hewitt is a wanker and i have no time for the mosquito.
His antics in the past have lost me and i will never cheer for him again.
Players like Federer and Sampra are/were TRUE players..they let their tennis do allllllll the talking.

He has made silly comments in the past... what 19 year old hasn't?

He made stupid comments when he was a lot older than 19

He was 22 when he called a disabled line judge a spastic
He was 21 when he said black linespeople favour black players
He was 20 when he called the Australian crowd stupid for having the gall to chear for his opponent who was also Australian.

I can't see why some people think we should forget his past indescretions and hero worship him. The guy has no class imo. I hope Roddick spanks him

Don't let the facts get in the way of a good story. On two occassions he used the word "spastic" in reference to an umpire and a linesman - neither were disabled.

I didn't say that, Razor did. I just quoted him.

One linesperson was.

And he's called 19 different umpires/linesperson(that I recall) spastics. The one that got the most publicity was the disabled one, the 2nd most publicised one was in a Grand Slam.

You are bloody kidding arn't you.

Out of the top 4 seed's he has had the hardest run.

Arnaud Clement - Finallist 3 years ago
James Blake - Returning from injury, is a top 25 player
Juan Ignacio Chela - Seeded in the championship
Rafael Nadal - Potential Top 5 player, beat both Roger Federer and Andy Roddick last year
David Nalbandian - Seeded 9th and playing beautifully.

I'd love for you to post the comparison draws of the other players in the semi finals and tell me how they are bloody easier than Hewitts.
