He said it a few months ago

look having to choose between the mayor of cairns and you …. I’m going to listen to the mayor

sorry

Cairns hasn't been mentioned in any recent bid by PNG.

The Mayor said, a year ago, we would put our hand up.

So what? 150 other small town mayors would say the same. It counts for shit.

I'd be more interested in you rebutting the points I raised then farting into an echo chamber, then arguing that some rich prick from the Roosters" is now the world's foremost expert on PNG.
You didn’t make any relevant points

all I saw was one big whine

you know australia gives BILLIONS in aid a year to png

yet you think afl states are going to notice an extra 15 million pa in the png aid budget

It's about optics.

Giving aid to fund starving children, or schooling to orphans isn't going to get the same blowback as funding Brandon Smith's third Ferrari or Shane Flanagan's Botox surgery.

I think albo has the politics of this covered

but I’ll email him your concerns

ALbo is better off investing in the local game in PNG - Digicel cup? maybe build some COE's, small stadium upgrades, better equipment etc...we know the NRL certainly won't do it

It also says three new clubs will only be worth $20mill a year, that nrl would look for a $2billion tv deal,(which theyve already got lol) and that Pacifica bears is a good idea. I wouldnt hold much store in the quality or accuracy of that article.

There won't be a Perth team 100%
There will be, its one of the three, i got the dolphins right way back when, now this cairns/png bid too, the next will be a nz/pasifika team, then perth, bears are going to be either the perth or pasifika, with a few token nso games as they wanted

I’d say it’s more likely we’ll see a Cummins led WA govt backed WC Pirates admitted, then a Pacifica team out of nz (8 games in nz, 4 in ong) then the firehawks over a ten year period.
Bears won’t be anywhere unless they go to nz or drop their non negotiables. It’s CC all over again for them.

Hahahahahaha, god you've got it all backwards, firehawks are getting in anywhere unless they team up with perth, and jets are absolutely no chance, not without the broncos blessing (which theyll never get)
Pirates are no hope, youve got nothing they want or they cant already get from other bids, that said the bears would be better suited to WA then any other area.... but I'm leaning towards nz/pasifika for them
The cairns/pasifika wont happen, it will be Cairns/PNG only

Jets & firehawks are only teams that can fund themselves. Where is this fantasy that NRL is going to supportadelaide & Perth coming from?!

Wa govt will determine perth. WhIch bid they back will be chosen by nrl. I suspect they’d rather go with aWA consortium over a ex Sydney club who want to stay in sydney.
we are talking a ten year period for this, firehawks will be in at the end of that presuming dolphins don’t do a titans and fall apart.
pacifika? Wild card, massive risk but of govt throw enough money, and incentives, at nrl who knows?
