If the dolphins rate as well as the broncos on tv and if they have some success on the field it could be within the next 12 months. I’m sure the NRL, fans, and clubs won’t like the bye round. We need the ratings for the broadcasters and crowds/results on the field for the Phins for the fans and clubs to push towards an 18th team.

The Crushers rated well and had good crowds right out of the gate, as did the Titans to be honest.

It's longer term that matters here.
Correct, so really going off past expansions, no.18 is coming no matter what, just a formality saying "we are waiting to see whatever"

The game has no long term future is my point.

It’s really a temporal entertainment option.

Its fun and we enjoy it, but don’t lose perspective.

It should fit into your life, not the other way around.

If society is going all wokey, the game has to follow to be relevant.

Then it becomes a game of touch footy.

No good for us, but future generations will need to be trained for finding fun in softness.

Look at all the regulation and officialdom and rules fracas. It’s trying to become a mental exercise.

Valid points. The difference here is Dolphins have a pathway from an existing club though

That needs design/engineering before a 2 year build minimum .... very tight.
That wont be needed asap, its a nice to have not nessesary to play your first 1st grade match, it can be completed by the end of their 3rd off season

That's called solitare, most CPUs have that as a standard built-in game... your looking for mindfield really..

...also built-in
A bit off topic but the Panthers recruitment effort has been outstanding for awhile.

And it seems to me Smug will be in the mix for awhile yet.

A few years ago I met a sports-master at a local high school.

A young year 7 kid looks remotely athletic or a bit bigger he’s reported in ( secretly) to Panther HQ for a looksy.

Well oiled machine out there.

Yeh more important the govt committment is gained (in writing lol) as part of offering the license to perth than the actual build being ready for opening game.

Yes but still need a club in perth... for all the poo pooing of every other expansion bid, perth still isn't showing any sign of presenting a currently run club... unless it is the bears who they are banking on

You’re preferred model simply does not work outside of queensland and nsw. even the hunters are reliant in nrl and govt funding to exist. There is not the money in the games second tier to allow for non heart land/pokie backed clubs to be established there for years before entering the nrl.

Besides the Dolphins, not one expansion side admitted to the NSWRL/NRL since 1982 has been derived from a "currently run" club.

And that was the biggest mistake the nswrl and arl made

they did that because they didn’t want to harm crl and qrl comp

wests Newcastle should’ve got the Newcastle license from the start

and Brisbane should’ve been two brl sides promoted to the arl

Yes what a disaster the Raiders, Broncos, Cowboys and Knights have been.

Dismal failures.

Knight went broke you know

arl put ten million into them which they never got back

then they ended up selling them to wests after all
