Australian union hasn’t been a threat to league for almost 20 yearsThats pretty disingenuous, he was completely right, if the NRL wanted to stick it into RU, they would've given a license to perth 5 years ago, when the force was on its knees, its obvious the league wasn't financially ready to do anything.. and are slowly building assets and streamlining processes to keep cost down, where they were an absolte shambles way back when..
Now as a league are probably ready to expand and grow... going after rival codes isn't smart, not when they share the same type of game like ru/stadia, yes we want a dent, or make inroads, but to cut out a rival like RU, will just leave a whole that might get filled by AFL, we would need to get a team in perth, then hopefully keep it stable and successful, cant do that whilst having one armed tied behind your back, its a smart play to sort out all the financial issues with the league and streamline the business costs, before jumping into foreign territory
it’s beneath us
the goal should be nz now that’s within our reach
