I think you have it wrong 84 .... there needs to be a morning of the day after thread and then an afternoon of the day after thread, possibly even a night of the day after thread

Couldn't agree more. I have sportsears. On at least 4 occasions the referees called a Souths player offside and when they made the tackle there was no penalty. On another occasion a player was a metre offside next to the referee and no penalty. There was one set where every tackle Liam Knight was told to get back. Penalise him he's taking the piss. So much for getting home town penalties, Souths won them 8-5. They went into the game with a mindset to give Souths a leg up
I posted one last night (too bad I can’t post it here) that Tatola I think was audibly on Nein told “you went early”, he then stood halfway between defensive line and ruck, Fergo runs at him, gets tackled, makes some post contact metres and lands about at where the defensive line was. I reckon it was only because Fergo made 10m that no penalty was called, but it was slower than it should have been if Tatola was forced to not make contact. As always the penalties called weren’t that poor, it’s the noncalls that do my head in. The Souffs player being allowed 1000 attempts to play the ball clear as day FFS

See what happens when they run hard and tackle hard. They did that from the first whistle and it was evident.

Good win, defended quite well but the 2 tries we conceded were soft. Thought our middle defence was better and thought we made good yardage every set.

But the pessimist in me can’t help but think what the story would have been if Cook was dummy half.

Mau’u was a terminator, he ran the ball very strong, Moses was good but gets to excited sometimes, Jennings doesn’t get enough ball but when he does his electric. Was Will Smith even on the field?

People around me at the game love giving it to Moses, and I really do not get it. The guy is our one and only point of attack no matter what you say, he has to do it all himself. So naturally his job is going to be twice as hard as most other halfbacks as everything runs through him, his quality is there to see but due to having to over exert himself some of his execution is poor. But you look at how he sliced through the line for Ferguson’s try and how he ran into the line at pace to put Hoffman over and that there shows his quality. I know his only 18 but I’ve been saying it for weeks now, we are crying for D Brown to come back, we need a second point of attack as we become too predictable at times. Early in the first half you could see we lacked confidence in attack. That’s where another half like Brown will improve us tenfold. He showed enough in 3 games to suggest that alone will improve us.

I think we are still 3 or so forwards short but I thought Gower, Paulo, Moeroa for his short stints and Mau’u were awesome.

Again Nathan Brown coming back will be huge.

All in all good win, was enjoyable and I thought defensively we were better, but I can’t help but look past next week away to Cronulla, even after last night does it really fill any of us with confidence?

I think our on line defence and scramble is really improved this year, but up the middle with better quality hookers up against us like next week, we may struggle again. I hope I’m wrong because last night was certainly much better and for once I thought we won the rick and made the yardage.

In the first half they were off-side from each of the kick offs they had as well. Half the team were in front of the kicker. I've seen them blow penalties this year many times so why not last night?

The refs were just completely incompetent last night, like really, really bad. We won and i should be happy (and i am) but i just can't believe how bad some of the calls and non calls were and the f**king arrogance of them.

Why did they not check the Sivo knock on? He ran for a try, why not check it? I'd be checking their bank accounts going forward because they looked like they had money on the game last night........

I'd like to see a bit more of Ray Stone. I'd be inclined to re-sign him as I think he'd be good value at the moment and looks a reliable back up at worst...

He reminds me a lot of Nathan Peats when he use to play a bit of lock when Issac came off the bench. A smaller bloke with a mentality of a junk yard dog. Definitely what we needed after the last three weeks of poor attitude and energy up the middle. Though Marata also did a good job bringing the energy.

I imagine stone makes way for Brown but.

Hopefully Penishands makes way for Brown. The game seems to suit having a smaller type middle in the team atm. Radley, Murray, Bateman etc.

There's a certain irony in the fact that we're cluttering the forum with a useless post match thread when we literally already have a match thread for match discussion, but then deleting/merging other threads on a similar basis.

Maybe I'm just cranky cos I haven't had my coffee yet, but where the f**k did this dumb idea even come from?

Sounds like a 111 special to me

2019-06-01 10.04.06.png Nice tatt Pou
Good platform laid by the forwards, the best for a while. Evans & Nikuore were very motivated.

Was also great to see Pou Pou streak onto the field wanting to get Gutherson' s signature.

Most of those Gould quotes are from his podcast after last weeks game. A bit cheeky to mix quotes from a week or so ago and last night.
Gus is 100% correct .... and i dont see any parra fan getting carried away with last night

Gus' summation of us is probably entirely accurate for about 9 other teams in the NRL also

What does PouPou constantly tell us? We are a middle of the road team and we are sitting appropriately on the ladder. We will battle it out with the other middle of the road teams for a finals spot but we aren’t guaranteed a finals spot.

In summation......PouPou is correct in this instance.
