in 3,2,1....

seriously, what a horribly unfortunate night.

gotta feel for our captain. 2 mistakes and you are panned by all and sundry. of course, all the fcuck ups by the other 16 before those go unmentioned.

hope he can get up mentally for the real game on Sunday.

Hayne was awesome - hope he doesnt play that well for the eels.

I thought Gidley had a very good game, punctuated with a couple of very poor mistakes late. he was exhausted, I dont think I can ever recall seeing him struggle to get up to play the ball before. There were a lot of reasons why NSW lost that game, none of them were Gidley.

Maybe it was a ploy... We won't have any more players out.

Brisbane and Canberra fans better not have a go.
Wallace and Campese were well out of their depth, and Gidley gave it everything he had.

Kurt is being judged on the mistakes at the end. That is all, pure and simple. Supporters of other teams can bag him all they want but he has led us into the Top 4.

Kurt was always trying, despite a couple of mistake was one of our best. Wallace and Campese had no cohesion, and looked lost organising an attack. Mullo has to play game two.

Kurt ran 224 metres with no line breaks.
Wallace and Campese have 25 metres between them.

I thought he was good, at the start he was a bit hesitant (perhaps from his knee?) But overall I thought he had a good game, that last knock on was nothing big, he handled the ball more than anyone im willing to guess, 1 knockon with 30 seconds to go is nothing, the in goal thing was unlucky, just brain snap.

nothing wrong with Gidley, what happened was unfortunate but he looked dangerous with every touch and needs to be closer to the play...put him at 6 and move Hayne to fullback.

I think what people were trying to show albeit with no explanation was at least he was taking them on.

Dumb & Dumber in the halves wouldn't have struck fear in to the heart of a four year old tonight and wouldn't take the line on.

it hink the stat proves like said before that both halves did not take the line on and did really have any effect on the game whatsoever... and i would of rathered LOD kciking.... cause from those 14 kicks atleast 10 of them went down slaters throat

I think Mullo is gonna end up in an un-winnable position again....

One of the reasons I hope they retain Wallace and Campese. The other reason is that I just dont believe that 4 days of training can prepare you to play one of the best sides of all time, all of which know each others game inside and out. If they were going to pick Mullen, then they had to do it from the outset to pair him with Gidley, now, they have made their call and they must give the incumbent halves a chance to get some sort of combination going. I really dont see this as being a test of the players, I see the coach failing misserably with his decisions so far, he has two more games to get his ideas sorted.

It was a tough ask for Kurt to basically debut in Origin as captain, he has played a couple of half games before now. To have a totally new side around him, with two halves that played together like USA and Cuba and a hooker that didnt really seem to think he was supposed to do anything other than pass. People expect way too much of Kurt Gidley, honestly, what more can the guy offer. He made some bad mistakes, but i repeat, neither of them cost us the game. Our utter lack of cohesion did. If this series is a loss, then they really need to look at getting Gould back...he gets Origin, he understands why combinations work and single guys do not, he has the experience and the know how to get a performance at short notice from a side.

Oh yeah. NO question. Wallace should never play origin again. I think we are about to lose Mullo for a few weeks and not cos of injury. The perfect partner for him in the halves is unavailable cos he is a d###head. I am speaking of course about Todd Carney. Farah was decent enough tonite to regain his spot. Wing was tremendous. With our top club bench (Fas, Wicksy, Pato and Simmo) out there tonite we would have killed queensland in the last 20. Macca is gone for mine. By no fault of his own. Kidley will be back.

But Mullen makes 18 metres against the Dogs on Saturday and gets KOTW points from all here. And he had a great game.

Campese made more metres than Lockyer tonight, and Lockyer was fine.

Wallace and Campese were sh*t, but the metres gained stats aren't what prove it.
