that is true. in a grand final one error shouldn't mean heads drop. however it was a real momentum swing and we could have avoided that broncos set on our line if Crichton doesn't drop it

This is true but someone will always make an error. Need to be better at defending it

Origin isn't an excuse. Melbourne lost 4 games last year. Brisbane were consistently the best team in the comp while fielding mass players. If we want to be serious it comes with the territory.

I get all of that. Look at that experience level across the squads though. They have had 10 years to get used too it. We haven't had 4 origin players since early 2000's. Though it was the other injuries that hurt more. Every week have new combos

As supporters and members this is something that was discussed before origin, along with the ongoing injuries it has made a huge impact on this season.

Time to prepare for next week.

Yes the injuries have f**ked us. The Panthers twitter said Aekins could play next week.

https://www.penrithpanthers.com.au/news/2018/07/21/injury-update-jarome-luai/

Scans have revealed Panthers fullback Jarome Luai suffered a syndesmosis injury in his left ankle during Friday's defeat to Brisbane Broncos.

The 21-year-old will review with a specialist next week and will be sidelined indefinitely.

Luai's replacement to face Manly will be revealed when Panthers coach Anthony Griffin names his side on Tuesday.

It is hoped Dallin Watene-Zelezniak will be fit to return from a hamstring injury while rookie Caleb Aekins is also in contention for selection

We just had 50 put on us. You think our lack of preparation for the game is a positive?

Someone's clutching at straws. But it isn't us.

The Origin period is behind us and we have our strongest roster available in months. Yet we played our worst game of the season. Now is not time for fun and games. It's time for hard work and trying to cement a top 4 spot.

This is quite true.

Look back at 2016. We started our run around the same time against the Broncos. Round 20:

Plenty of room for concern after last night. Though I haven't given up just yet.

We don't have the heads up class of Moylan though. That football was great to watch but very high risk.

Merrin is also a shadow of the player he was then

Yes yes but Maloney has done enough this year to show he's got what it takes. He was deplorable last night but he has won us many games this year.

I'm thinking RCG not Merrin, he will return before the year is out. Fired up no doubt. RCG probably gets fired up filing his tax return so he'll be motivated.

I am with you. Nothing to say we are gone yet

Only if DWZ is out. Still need to get an exemption.

Look at the team we had v Roosters. Wallace, McKendry and Browne alone gives us 600 extra games experience.

Never going to be happy after getting so comprehensively thumped but as usual the response here is way over the top.

The representative season and horrific injury toll was always going to bite us at some point and that time is now.

There's a lot of football still to be played and it is important that we respond positively.

Either DWZ or Aekins will be better at FB than Whare so I don't care which.

As for the Roosters game we still should have been better.

Assuming we are allowed to play Aekins. Peachey fit means might be made play as is and Whare needs to play there.

This is where the rule is shit. They follow the US style as far as squads. Yet in NBA or NFL. You call in injury replacements as you need so always have a full squad. Same should apply here
