I've been to many dragons eels games at bankwest and the old parra stadium

Its the same everything.
Its like they don't actually watch the game all they see is the eels being hard.
done by.
Even when they clearly do something wrong .they stiil can't see it.

Just look at gutho and Moses actions in so many games.
:100::thumbsup:
I remember being there a few years ago when both Dugan & Joel Thompson were playing for us and some of their supporters were really giving it to Dugan every time he touched the ball. The only problem was it was Thompson they were giving it to & my daughter said it’s not even Dugan lol.

My favourite Parra Stadium memory was a while ago now maybe in the Brownie era? I think we were injury depleted and not tipped by anyone to win but the makeshift team got up to win. Not sure what year it was but a great game to attend to see the looks on the Parra fans faces as the game finished.

Slowish and timid ? Periera has topped the metres ( 188 and 199 ) and tackle breaks in NSW cup both games he's played this year and has a hat trick and 3 line breaks to his name as well. His stats against Parra last year were far from timid - 22 runs for 264 mtrs ( 85 PCM's ), 12 tackle breaks ( double anyone else on the field ) and no missed tackles. His opposites were Fergo and Waqa Blake. I get that you prefer Cody ( so do I long term ) but Periera deserves some credit and a bit of respect and would be handy next Sunday.
I know Cody needs time but we also need to win games. He's yet to crack 100 mtrs and makes a lot of errors, 3 last week. Last week he made 9 runs for 46 mtrs, that's timid - getting involved about once every 10 minutes. I'm prepared to give him plenty of time but I'd be wanting a better effort and more results very soon - it's not 7's. Hopefully he and Bird get some early ball this week and wipe the smile off Fergo's dial.
I respect your logic. It makes total sense but Cody is playing out of position.
He is an out and out fullback, not a winger.
For what it's worth, I think he will be our long term fullback sooner rather than later.
The experience gained in first grade is invaluable right now and while we're winning, I think he will keep JP in reserve grade..
His stats don't read well but he tends to clean up a lot of loose ball in the in goal area and is a pretty decent defender.
Would love to see him in open spaces.
I think that is where he has an edge over JP - speed.

Was that a Friday night game?
I do recall being at a presentation night for my cricket club and when I went to the toilet I stopped by the bar area on the way back and watched the last twenty minutes. My teammates thought I was on the bog having a wank. I almost was.

Cody’s very quick & has the ability to make clean line breaks with speed, and for me, a Changa-like step in the making

He’s settling in & remains Hook’s 1st choice

....& it’ll be a good matchup with Fergo’s fairly brutal & in-your-face aggressive running game.

My ‘scrubber’ allusion re JP relates not to any reference to the fairer sex, but sourced from Aussie bush vernacular (someone loosely from the bush - and of the journeyman/wanderer ilk).

Depth players

JP’s journey has taken him from NZ to WA, Mackay & Dragons.

A likeable guy who’s sought and taken his opportunities admirably, but, again IMO not our future

- & sorry kit66, but my timidity reference was not about effort, but in my eyes related more to on-field presence & compared to the increasingly more fashionable ‘agro’ of figures like Nene (the winger he replaced),Rav & Bird types.
My apologies.

And as with most of Waterboy’s pickups (and a bit like scrubber cattle) they don’t/didn’t quite make top shelf.

He tries very hard and apparently trains the house down as per Lafai.

He’ll get more chances I’m sure as the injury tolls from 6Again mount

Biggest game of the year so far this weekend. Can't wait.
This will be the game to test our fighting spirit and stamina and whether or not we can handle and beat a current top 4 team. The first 10 or so minutes of the game will let us know if their steely determination is carrying on from the game against the Knights.

Some good luck and rub of the green our way for a change will help heaps. Just got to not buckle under pressure and as with every post I make, minimal errors/mistakes and less 6 agains will give us more possession which we will mean less for the Eels and a chance to win.

Geez you really go into bat for your man. I give you reason and stats, you give me Ramsey - Changa-like. Well give that man a million a year for 6 years.......and some white boots.

Ramsey's the future hopefully but needs to light that sucker up very soon.
Periera deserves some respect. He's a great back up to have and won't let us down - remember he's not stuck outside Aitken any more and if you're in the same team as Rava ( the vs eels game I mentioned ) but making twice as many tackle breaks and metres as him maybe strength and determination are just as good as aggression.

No Steve Chiddy in the bunker this week so that’s a start!

The problem is that Ramsey is in Saints future plans and waiting in the wings for a wing spot in first grade are the Feagai brothers, Sloan and Schiller. I'd say JP is a backup winger now and the left wing spot seems to be the position Griffin will blood his young outside backs into first grade.

I would not be surprised to see Ramsey get a chance at fullback only to be replaced by Sloan with Ramsey returning to the left wing. Sloan to be challenged for his fullback position by Schiller playing fullback in reserve grade.

First grade fullback ready. When a player is ready, they will come into contention. Ramsey is not quite ready as yet. The others are further behind Ramsey.

Hopefully the officials won't arse rape us with set restarts like they did in the trial game in Feb. Looking at some of the calls the Eels got last week against the Tigers I'm not very confident though.
