Lol yeah, the Australian coach thinks otherwise

We'll trust his opinion over yours

Lol yeah.

I think we all agree he made the right choice when selecting the Kangaroos squad.

That would be the Australian coach who had no choice but to leave Dane out of the Kangaroos after his second poor Origin series in a row. He ended up getting a run due to withdrawals.

Read what Meninga said about his decision to leave Gags out.

Get up to speed RRR.

I will jump on board with anyone that wants to suggest that we are not getting value out of Gagai on game day for what we are paying him but we should at least stick to the facts. You have suggested that Gagai had two poor Origin series in a row yet in the first of those he won the Wally Lewis medal while playing on the wing, which is an extraordinary achievement. Gagai has great potential and we just need to get him back to his best

Poaching raid? The ‘next chapter’ in fiery Rabbitohs-Broncos feud: https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nr...d/news-story/a3de8bd977e74ec7cc5d26d5fe5d8637
This is getting ugly. I can see Jimmy now being used as a pawn in the pissing contest between Bennett and the Broncs management. Where they probably would have released him if the deal all happened behind closed doors, now that WB has had his media onslaught against their board this week, they’ll just hold their ground and say, no we’re not releasing him. Even if releasing him is the best thing for Seibold and Jimmy. I can see why our board are not keen on him returning, but I reckon WB could get his way if allowed.

I’d take Staggs and TPJ in a heartbeat, but they can keep Lodge well and truly lodged up there.

Anyway it’s all good theatre leading up to tonight, (I’m sh!tting, there’s more than 2pts on the line now, and I couldn’t handle a smug Seibold if we get done.)

From Sporting News,

George Burgess to be forced out of South Sydney at Season’s end, report

Off-contract South Sydney prop George Burgess is reportedly set to be squeezed out of Redfern at the end of the 2019 NRL season due to salary cap constraints.

The 27-year-old passed up the chance to join Parramatta on a long-term deal in January under the urging of new Rabbitohs coach Wayne Bennett, who was reluctant to sign off on an early release.

But it appears Burgess' days at the club are numbered, with Daily Telegraph journalist Dean Ritchie on Thursday reported the Bunnies won't be in a position to offer George a new deal at for 2020 and beyond.

Ritchie suggests George, twin brother to Rabbitohs prop Tom and younger brother of superstar back-rower Sam, is mulling a return to the English Super League.

However, there was some mail earlier this month the Eels, who have 18 players coming off contract at season's end, are still circling the Burgess twin with an eye to a possible switch before the June 30 deadline.

George has played 140 NRL games since making his first-grade debut in Round 13 of the 2012 season against Canterbury.

As first reported by Sporting News Australia's The NRL Lurker, Burgess sat out Wednesday's training session at Redfern.

But coach Wayne Bennett later confirmed the big front-rower will line up against the Brisbane Broncos in the Rabbitohs' first clash against ex-coach Anthony Seibold's side at ANZ Stadium on Thursday night.

Does anyone know if George is sick or carrying an injury? Sat our mid week training and played only 14 minutes last night.

Bennett is renowned for being second only to Bellamy for getting great value out of fringe front rowers but i'd love to keep George at the club. That said every game that Knight, Nicholls and Tatola play they look better with Kennedy and Amone still to come through

Both George and Turner didn’t join the captains run Wednesday and both trained in rehab vests during the week. Turner looked to be struggling late in the game, maybe an ankle issue. Not sure what is wrong with George, but maybe Wayne thought the other forwards had it under control so he rested George.

George must be carrying an injury, but he looks overweight,he is bigger than twin thomas, and he isnt playing well id say he is worth at this moment 400 to 450k not the 600k he wants or being offered, if what i hear is true, pengai, lodge, roberts we need dollars to afford these players, then id say george is doing himself no favors out first 4 weeks then injured. I would say he is gonski
