When you can't say something nice you're best to say nothing, so I will, though I will list a few of my favourite bands.

Sloan, Teenage Fanclub, Wilco, Weezer, Guided By Voices, Brendan Benson, Cotton Mather, Matthew Sweet, The Posies, New Pornographers, Sugar, The Replacements, The Pixies, Sonic Youth, Velvet Crush, Uncle Tupelo, Treble Charger, Superdrag, Supergrass, The Smiths, Sebadoh, Redd Kross, The Plimsouls, Pavement, Aimee Mann, Jellyfish, The Jayhawks, Fountains of Wayne, etc...

Rock's demise has been greatly exaggerated.
i have no problem saying un-nice things. ok, its clear why you don't like bands like Pearl Jam and the Tea Party - that foul type of music which i call "nerd rock" is obviously more up your alley. what about They Must Be Giants? Wheatus? Ben Lee? Ben Kweller? do you like those geeks too? they all suck, with the rare exceptions. don't take me too seriously, i respect your opinion, but to imply that The Tea Party, Pearl Jam, Joe Satriani etc. are no good...   it's your loss anyway, i guess.

Yeah but that's because a large part of their audience was so captivated with every breath and fart emanating from Morrison.

Sometimes good bands just run their course.

The Stones haven't put out a decent record in 20 years, but their tours do well because of Jagger still carving it up and their impressive catalogue.

No, it's a genre called power pop. I respect the competence of bands like Pearl Jam, etc I just don't find their music interesting.

No, not really. Can't put me in a box 8)

they all suck, with the rare exceptions.

Well I've been told. :p

I think guys like Joe Satriani are very talented but I would rather they use their talents to play music that's more interesting to me.

Extended guitar solos don't do much for me.

they might be giants have the cool song dr worm

they also wrote the "Dr Evil" song on Austin Powers II, and the theme some from Malcolm In The Middle.

my favorite lyric of theirs is "every jumbled pile of person has a thinking part that wonders what the part that isn't thinking isn't thinking of"

I think it's funny that you call these performers (and the bands I've listed) geeks.

I didn't know Eddie Vedder was the reincarnation of Arthur Fonzarelli.

Are you a jock? 8)

According to my sources 69 is in the first stage of evolving into a cat. This is an extremelly rare syndrome, only about 20 cases world wide. 69 is given two weeks before he reaches that horrible second phase, and then becomes somewhat more respectable as a cat. My thoughts go out to 69's family.

PS. A ready made cat for Jed.

The seaweed is always greener
In somebody else's lake
You dream about going up there
But that is a big mistake
Just look at the world around you
Right here on the ocean floor
Such wonderful things surround you
What more is you lookin' for?

Under the sea
Under the sea
Darling it's better
Down where it's wetter
Take it from me
Up on the shore they work all day
Out in the sun they slave away
While we devotin'
Full time to floatin'
Under the sea

Down here all the fish is happy
As off through the waves they roll
The fish on the land ain't happy
They sad 'cause they in their bowl
But fish in the bowl is lucky
They in for a worser fate
One day when the boss get hungry
Guess who's gon' be on the plate

Under the sea
Under the sea
Nobody beat us
Fry us and eat us
In fricassee
We what the land folks loves to cook
Under the sea we off the hook
We got no troubles
Life is the bubbles
Under the sea
Under the sea
Since life is sweet here
We got the beat here
Naturally
Even the sturgeon an' the ray
They get the urge 'n' start to play
We got the spirit
You got to hear it
Under the sea

The newt play the flute
The carp play the harp
The plaice play the bass
And they soundin' sharp
The bass play the brass
The chub play the tub
The fluke is the duke of soul
(Yeah)
The ray he can play
The lings on the strings
The trout rockin' out
The blackfish she sings
The smelt and the sprat
They know where it's at
An' oh that blowfish blow

Under the sea
Under the sea
When the sardine
Begin the beguine
It's music to me
What do they got? A lot of sand
We got a hot crustacean band
Each little clam here
know how to jam here
Under the sea
Each little slug here
Cuttin' a rug here
Under the sea
Each little snail here
Know how to wail here
That's why it's hotter
Under the water
Ya we in luck here
Down in the muck here
Under the sea
