I know all about the Western Reds. You know nothing about the BRL. All you care about is Perth. You make all sorts of excuses to justify shit crowds in Perth, but are quick to attack Sydney and Brisbane.

Perth cost Super League a fortune in travel and accommodation. Crowds were shit in 1997 and much of 1996. The poor crowds made them unviable. Around 7,000 or 8,000, were they not? That's what the two games in Perth in 2017 drew. The Perth media was very hostile to the game.

Murdoch knows what value Perth would bring to the game. News Ltd kicked them out because they were a drain on resources and had trouble recruiting players. The big suits brought in Melbourne and haven't looked back at Perth. If there was value in a Perth team Murdoch's News Ltd would have pushed for them to be included by now.

The Crushers were a poorly run club that was doomed to fail. Its logo was an old steam powered train, its name was too broad to represent anyone and they set their HQ in Pastoral Brothers Territory, which is only a stone throw away from the Donkeys. You don't have to be Einstein to see how that would go belly up. The three BRL clubs closest to Donkeys HQ all went under.
When describing crushers pretty much sounds like bombers bid

You seem pretty ignorant. The Reds business plan was set on only laying out travel and accomodation costs for first grade , when the arl decided at last minute to bring in reserve grade as well it fcked them over. Then SL blew all hope of viability out of the window. I mean if we want to go back an unprecedented times we could say let’s not bother with Brisbane2 as crushers failed miserably. See how silly that sounds?
Don't be calling names particularly when what is being stated is simply fact.
Perth team was tried & failed. Times have changed but it's going to take ton of money to prop up maybe indefinitely. What will NRL get out of investment in return? It's clear current admin don't think it's worth it.
Crushers show team with no point of difference to Broncos will fail.

.

Whether you like the Bombers brand or not (and it can be changed) the idea of them having no previous ties and being a new team is the right plan for a second Brisbane team

The Bombers bid has the POTENTIAL to leapfrog Western Corridor and Firehawks in my ranking *IF* they ditch the stoic, yet museum-y branding that's half-overlapping with an AFL brand.

Reality is a well run club with backers will succeed and a poorly run club that is skint won’t, doesn’t matter if in heartland or an expansion area. The last decade is littered with examples.

Add the Auckland Warriors.

Technically they went broke at the end of 2000, and if it wasn't for the Fire-sale to Eric Watson & subsequent re-branding as New Zealand Warriors & relaunch, we wouldn't have an NRL team over here.

like I said, the final decision was a stand alone club with no connections to any wafl club.
But it didn't represent all of greater Perth, just Fremantle. Its purpose was to unite fans from East Fremantle and South Fremantle. It's been pretty darn successful off the field for a club that's never won a premiership, wouldn't you agree?

Storm have been the most successful club in Australian sport in Australia's so called sporting capital, but they don't draw as many good crowds as the Dockers.

You and TGD keep on saying the next team in Brisbane must represent all of greater Brisbane to succeed. Dockers and Port Adelaide prove you both wrong.
