Highlighting stats that has him leading the try assists (4 next best McCrone with 2) and 2nd on our try scoring list does not support your argument. It suggests a systemic problem from the coachimg ranks. Unless of course you blame him for that too?
Hello BrissyRedV. I remember 3 of Widdop's try assists. He was given a try assist for the Dugan try against Penrith which is absurd. You will say "good early ball" or some nonsense like that but in reality he did what he always does with his passing game, catch and pass to the guy outside him with the enemy defensive line at least 5 meters away. Then there was the try assist vs GC when he kicked and the ball bounced off the posts and right. into JDBs arms. The third I remember is the one last week with the kick. So really he has only had at most 2 try assists in 8 games. His line break assists are probably even worse because kicks don't count. For a playmaker that is absolutely terrible. Astounding he is still in first grade based on those stats.
Vas comes from nowhere and posts a 1,00 plus posts very quickly predominantly with the Widdop V Benji crap.
Ruby comes from nowhere and already well on the road to a 1,000 posts also with Widdop bagging as the main theme but no stated love for Benji.
Vas has now also decided to follow Ruby and has cast Benji aside (love is fickle indeed).

If it comes to keeping one of either Benji or Widdop, I am still very much in favor or keeping Benji. He was very good last year but he is spending less and less time on the field. This is really disturbing. I can't remember the name of the movie but it has Robert DeNiro in it where he is a fanatical baseball supporter focusing on one guy. This is the impression I get with you and Widdop. Of course the major difference is that in the movie the baseball player is a superstar while Widdop most certainly is not.
