Gutho pushes him out of the way to do it. I think Reed is not seeing the gaps like the best in the biz Camillions used to. Probably why Harry will get the Qld job and not him.

Yeah I don’t understand why Gutho is pushing him out of the way each time there’s an opportunity. If I was the coach I’d be letting Gutho know it’s not on.

What you have concluded is that hookers who make a bunch of tackles and are good passers like Reed are coached not to focus on stealing quick yards around the ruck. You have totally discounted the fact that the only recent hooker who can do the lot is Camillions with daylight second.

I think when he runs he’s effective but doesn’t do it enough to create much for us.

I’m not arguing, I just disagreed with him. Suggesting that Rheed left because BA won’t let him play better is silly.

I don't think there is any truth to it. Only a handful or hookers are good at running from dummy half. Reeds acceleration is slow. He isn't going to split them like Peats would. If a hooker doesn't take off quick the gap has closed.
Korisau, Cook,Grant are excellent based on all round game amd cam run. Most others can do one or the other. Reeds probably the next best hooker but his run games poor and I doubt will ever become explosive. That's a physical thing. Sure he ran more in under 20s. He was also lighter, more agile, playing in a very strong side and at a level where there is far more time and space.
Welcome to the NRL. He worked on his game to be so strong in other areas that he is a quality NRL hooker.

Guys like Liddle have better run games but the downfall is he is average in all other areas.
If Reed could run he would be on 800k. Cook and Korisau if they where only 25yrs old would be asking 800k+ Age is what's keeping their value down now.

Manlys hooker outplayed him on Friday night or atleast matched him.
Problem with Reed is its rare he is our MOM. The other 3 guys I mentioned are always one of their teams best. Its rare for us that Mahoney is that.
