This is Parra mate. As soon as the back slapping starts they melt like girlies do when they see Hindy111 with his shirt off on a hot summer night and the beach was burning...

How long have you been following us ffs? We are no chance and we will have a million and one excuses as to why we couldn't get there, but we will be back hungrier then ever next season after the next hardest ever off season in history and Heaven help the rest of the comp against our awesomeness because.........bla bla bla bla bla...
You're probably correct but something happened last week that provides some hope. That "something" allowed Lussick to be punted and Lane moved from permanent edge. We actually witnessed better D, Paulo finally had a go and ffs even Sivo raised his standed to average first grader. Early days but effort deserves support and they have mine with efforts such as last night.

NRL leading try scorer Maika Sivo! Put some respect on his name! :D … that stat blew my mind last night. Anyway here’s hoping the big unit gets back to his best.

Lussick regressed and got hooked. Fair play to Hands, but I think you guys need to get your head out of the clouds. He was able to play well because he had time and space. Is he a great or even good NRL hooker ? No and neither is the other guy.

Good on Brendan, he had a good game last night, however he played against a team who produced poor line speed and were dominated by our forwards. Our pack ran 400m more than theirs, post contact was an extra 100m as well. As I have said many times, it’s all about consistency and not to crack when he is in traffic and the markers put real pressure on him. Happy to be proven wrong, he now has ample opportunity to be a good NRL hooker. He's off contract in November, do we want to sign him as our guy on a 3 year deal or look for a tougher crafty toiler ?

He is certainly a better solution to what Lussick has been dishing up, but let’s face it, that’s not hard.

Some perspective however. He is not at age 25, in the same league as the top dozen (or more hookers) in the NRL. But he’s all we have right now, so we make do. No, MA should not be picked in NRL. He’s on a dev contract next year, I say leave it at that.

Hands aside, the difference maker was Moses and anyone who peddled “no excuses” in the past 6 or 8 has their eyes painted on.

Everyone else can see it.

For a bloke who criticises others negativity you certainly found a whole trailer load there Gronky.
Hands was great last night. He bought the forwards onto the ball as much as their intent was much improved. He also tackled his ass off for the full 80. His short side play with Moses was exceptional. He also didnt attempt nothing kicks on tackle 3.
Talk about trying to find a thorn on the rose bush.

To me the biggest change was how the pack ran straight and hard. Reg and Emu charged forward and laid the platform. Kelma and Joe did the same. There was energy in our game, first time in a long time.

Was this all down to Hands at dummy half? Not sure, but what a difference he made to the side. Great to have Gutho and Moses back.

We looked good with the ball, but the defence will take a lot of fixing. As soon as our line is staggered or broken we are in trouble.

Apart from the try he scored, which was a great effort by the way, I thought Paulo was serviceable at best last night and worryingly it was one of his better games this year. He's playing no better than a middle forward on around half what he is reported to be earning. And his leadership last week and prior in the absence of Gutho was non-existent. I'd still be looking to move him on but I suspect, like the Cowboys with Taumololo, he's way overpriced and will be too hard a sell to get other clubs to pick up anywhere near 2 thirds of his current salary that would be required to make the deal worthwhile for us....

We haven't had that crisp and expansive service from dummy half since Rheed was here.... The split seconds make a difference

That was a whole lot of cope and dribble from Gronkles. All he had to say was Bea got it wrong and Hands while no superstar is a better option than Lussick. @Poupou Escobar and @Gronk going down together on the Titanic and playing their instruments proudly.

I hope Trent sticks with second row combination. Tuilagi looked dangerous out wide, played a role in that Sivo try, and Carty of course was great

Ive got a give a wrap to Joe O, he's been solid and thought did a good job last night, making good yards and tackles, he has barely put a foot wrong recently and has been an improvement compared to last year.

Agreed, Joffa has been more than decent.

I wasn't negative, I was measured.

I agree with you that he looked good against a Sharks pack that was getting rolled. But that's when 7s and 9s have great games; when they have time and space.

Over to him to show that he can be the same or better player against the teams that are not letting us steamroll them. For me, if you want to win a comp you need a better hooker than what we have. If you think he is a premiership type hooker, then you do you. Frankly I think that all three of our hookers who are playing seniors (I'm not going to count Meni Luke) have massive question marks about them.

Serious question ...

How had Lussick regressed?

I think he was the same as what he was when we signed him last year.

Hands made a huge difference. His passes where long like Mahoneys and fast like a bullet. He may not be a star but I think he can be a solid NRL hooker. I wouldn't write him off after about 14 full games. His tackling was also excellent.
Sharks line speed was great from the 20th min till about the 50th. They where all over us.
I'd persist with Hands. At the very least he is solid
