You’ve made that comment several times, the HOF is there to manage the cap and ensure the roster is able to be maintained at a certain level and gets paid well to do that. Losing 6/7 players on unders as you say, could be replaced by 3 decent player and some tyros. That’s what well run clubs do, we don’t.
We signed Hopgood, Hodgson and Ofahengaue. Three decent players (one did his ACL five minutes after we signed him) and a few cheap depth players: Doorey, Murchie, Momoisea and Davey. They're a fair reflection of how much we had left in the cap.

4 spaces still free in top 30 and no bother even trying to look for a back for this season. Ridiculous.
We had a bunch of spaces free last year and still used 31 players in first grade. You're worrying about a non-problem. Anyone we sign at this stage of the season will be Lumelume quality. We might as well just upgrade him for the year.

Let’s be honest, if the R&R team haven’t been working their nuts off to add to the roster for next year then basically they should be moved on asap.

Signing one player then doing not a lot, seems typical behaviour given the last 3 years or so under their control, just not good enough, really completely unacceptable. The big fan base, and other financial considerations seem unable to be used by the current team to attract close to elite players. Don’t come up with the salary cap limitations, it’s their job to keep that under control and ensure they can keep the club competitive, as accountants they strangely lean on cap control as an issue not something they should control better than most.
The player they've signed for next year is no doubt pretty expensive. As for the rest of the roster, our gun SG Ball merkins from last year will be turning 20 and 21 next year. But the club isn't likely to announce their upgrades into the top thirty. Fans wig out when a club announces the signing of merkins they've never heard of.

Hodgson was coming off a couple of injury-interrupted seasons at the Raiders and was clearly at the backend of his career. It was always a gamble of a signing. There was a reason that Ricky was happy to move on from him.
