I think it is under the rules, but I’m not 100% either.
Due to it being a pure accident, I would be ok with something like that being let go and called a what it is, an accident. But like I said, I think it’s under the rules.
Let’s jut hope one of our boys don’t do it.
I believe the rules say you cannot put him in a dangerous position while tackling him ... but he wasnt tackling him - thats the whole point

The other issue is, last I checked, the rulebooks available online are all different and all way simplified versions....
Yeah i dont believe any of this is a rugby league rule, the things we are talking about are all nrl "interpretations"

Yeah but by that same logic, you could just make a half-arsed effort at competing, cannon into his legs with your arms waving around, without "tackling" him and deliberately knock him out of the air...obviously you can't do that, so there must be more to it than just whether he';s actually effecting a "tackle" or not.

Does not matter if he was not trying to tackle him, it would be the same if Moylan stuck an arm out trying to catch the ball and nailed Isaako in the jaw with a elbow. Can't do it.

TBH as an extension of this conversation I still think we're a long way off how good RU are at protecting players from neck injuries. Moyza would have been looking at a yellow card and saved from a straight red only by the fact he was clearly shown watching the ball closely. You just can't take the legs of a player in the air, end of story.

I just can't understand why we cracked down so hard on dangerous throws but basically ignored all the other ways folks can get a bad neck injury. Anyway, hopefully it doesn't take a serious injury to sort it.

Changing topic....

I keep hearing people say we need to introduce a Captains Challenge in response to the dumb call from last weeks f**k up with the touch judge

WTF? ... a captains challenge is just going to the bunker ... which is what happened ffs .... the bunker would have still f**ked up either way

No that is an accident too .... if he is legitimately just trying to catch the ball

I bet you'd be howling if we didn't get a penalty in the same situation, mate.

Rightly so, too.
But we never get the penalty, while the Broncos get ALLLLLLLLLLL the penalties. It was yet another 50/50 call, did the Sharks even get a penalty the second half???

Not sure how protecting blokes necks his going to result in touch footy, and I'd suggest that RU is still actually a lot more tackle-oriented than the NRL even with the rules protecting kickers and backs.

Yeah. Need to change who's in the bunker. The technology is good but the people in there are still as brain dead as they were when it was the video ref.

Was watching the 7's last week and when they went up to their version of the bunker it took one or two replays before making their decision.
