That's ok... and there is something (positive) to be said for hope. But there is just as much (positive) to be said for honest assessment as well.

There's a good chance we'll not make it. Hard to say whose fault it is.

Anyhow, stranger things have happened in NRL. Look at the cows, beaten by the tigers in a record score only a couple of months ago.

I just like how after we scored our first try the Cowboys players fixed their defence and we let another 2 tries in down the same side...

We've had a lot go wrong this season - Lane's injury, RCG's injury (and eventual suspension), Sivo's suspension, Brown's suspension, Greig's injury...

To even be in the hunt for a Top 8 spot after all that is remarkable, tbh.

Club, Coach, recruitment but the players need to take fair share as well.

Having a total of 22 weeks suspended from a total of 6 players simply isn't good enough. Has basically had us with one arm behind our back most of the year.

And most suspensions have been for dumb incidents.

Matto, Paulo, Reg, Dylan are 4 key players and had themselves rubbed out for crucial periods for nothing short of stupidity. Each of those incidents were all so avoidable.

Yep, and the sad thing is those guys are probably four of the 6 main leaders in our club - along with Moses and Gutherson.

Dyl and Reg cost us tonight. They both play and I reckon we win. Simple as that. And both out due to non-accidental actions that did not need to happen.

Yep the pre finals bye will help massively if we snuck into 8th.

A 4 week tilt off a bye get some momentum early in finals and carry it deep.

We'll be the best team to miss the Top 8 in a very very long time.

It's just one of those seasons. Maybe the season we have to have for those responsible for recruitment and retention to find some key signings going forward.

Look at Canberra and Cronulla they have no right being there but have had a too softish draw they couldn't not make it.

I don't mind a hard draw no team has won the comp off the back of a soft draw so that's not an issue.

But the Raiders have lucked in so much this year it isn't funny look at there F/A it shows what a poor team they are.

There biggest winning margin is 10.

Have benefited from playing sharks with no Hynes, Parra with no Moses, Souths with No origin players.

I'll throw in Dragons with no Hunt even though you could say they should still win they fell over the line in that one.

There one decent win was against the Broncs in Brisbane and even then from memory they lost a few players early with HIA.

My view is that you can only beat what is in front you.

I also believe that a club who allows a player to miss 3 games instead of paying $4k doesn't deserve to whinge about other people's draws.

That decision by Matterson was inexcusable and unacceptable, and was the beginning of the end of our season.

I reflected on that last night. That and so many other obstacles the footy gods kept throwing at us. Could we have handled things better, yes, but f**k it’s been a hard year. Have we actually had our best 17 on the field once this year ?

Closest would have been round 7 and 8 against Bulldogs and Broncos I reckon.

Difficult to understand the nervous nellies who come out when there is a loss to bash the team, the coach and just moan.

down players, Atkins referee, never stopped trying agst the form team of the NRL. Always hard when you lose, but the boys never gave in, kept going to the end, Cowboys at full strength and at home, with the full force of the Foxtel knob gobblers on their side , and we lost 4 tries to 3. Penalties and 6 agains massively to the Cowboys and no credit to the team .

Yep it's never the coaches fault for anything, it's the NRL's, referee's or the Roosters and Uncle Nicks fault. It's now even the Fox sports commentators LMFAO!! The season is done and dusted. We went in this season with no back up for the injury prone Hodgson and no backline depth whatsoever. I mean who is responsible for this?? Instead we stock pile middle plodder forwards and being back dross like Andrew Davey. We are easily the slowest team in the NRL. Slow as the coaching staff.
