No coach is going to accept a sackable KPI being MUST NOT miss the semi finals more than once.
In a three year extension, after 10+ years at a club, still searching for a premiership win after 35-ish years at the time?

He should have been given little choice tbh. He could have always always walked and found himself another coaching role... oh, wait.

Dylbags saying he's been given the keys. I'd be more impressed if he said he was allowed to hot wire the team.

Wouldnt the hasty decision be to sack him before his contract ends?
He is currently only contracted to be here for 2024 and 2025 and personally, I don't think he will be extended beyond 2025 (short of a GF victory).
I can't see him just seeing out his contract to be honest. He will either be extended or sacked before the end of the contract.

We can't go the entire 2025 season not knowing who the coach is for 2026, and if we decide someone else will be the coach in 2026, then his position becomes untenable for whatever 2025 period is remaining, and he must be shown the door.

Not every coach gets let go part way through their final year if they have simply come to the end of the contract (and not been sacked for lack of performance).
I reckon BA is professional enough to see out whatever remains of this final year once his replacement is announced but maybe the club isn't professional enough to let him. It works for players, why wouldn't it work for the coach?

I think it will lead to a third straight season without a Top 8 finish. I don't that is acceptable for this coach to just see out the contract if that is to occur. That is the pure definition of the ultimate acceptance of mediocracy.

No coach is going to accept a sackable KPI being MUST NOT miss the semi finals more than once. There are too many things out of the control of the coach, such as referees, player injuries, player suspensions, and so on.

It would be like giving a train driver MUST NOT run late more than twice or you're sacked KPI.
Yep. Merkins obviously don't understand how KPIs work. Only a desperate coach would agree to the ones suggested here.

No wonder we are short on train drivers

I'm f**king stoked this gameday thread has devolved into another round of "sack BA" before we've even lost.

It's very refreshing.
If we win this in Canberra without Moses it'll be a massive achievement. If we lose it will mean nothing. We are more chance of beating the Cowboys at home next week.
