Wasn't he stopping a potential try scoring opportunity? So it was the correct call.

The emu hit was the wrong call
Nothing for getting pulled back by the Roosters as he attempted to chase, that was professional also. But Atkins is who he is.

I'm waiting to hear BA say, 'The effort was there but we didn't ice the big moments'. Then I can call it a night.
Proud of the Effort. We need to be smarter. Its a tough competition. We chased the collision well. We need to roll the sleeves up and go again

BA interchanges have been poor.
RCG being asked to play the first 40 when we only had 40%of ball. Hodgson in for to long. Huge errors.

I hope he sees the light next week. Matto gets his 13 spot back. Bryce and Lane in the 2nd row. Hands starts and Hodgson on bench. Waqa dropped
At the rate we're going we'll never see our best 17 on the park this year until it's way too late, if ever.

That’s true but you’d hope we wouldn’t be missing a player for a quarter of the game, we get Lane and Paulo back, BA has hopefully realised his mistake with Hodgson and he’s dropped or playing only 20 minutes and we still have 3 roster spots to fill with reportedly a bit of a war chest to spend. We could conceivably add an elite player into one of those spots and at least improve our other outside back deficiencies, as well as being in some better middle depth. If we can achieve that we’ll shit on the Roosters. They were pretty average tonight all things considered.

Yes agree. There was a lot to take from that effort. Penisini was awesome. Our biggest weakness atm is Waqa,Simmonson lack of go forward and Hodgson.

I don't get the Sivo bashing. I thought he had an ok game

Its a long season. The next 5 games are all winnable. We could be 6/10. I think worse case we would want to be is 5/10 and that puts you in an ok spot.

I can get around this. Hodgson plays the standard 14 role and doesn’t get on unless we have an injury and Hopgood comes on for Grieg after 20 to tighten up the ruck.

Disagree Hindy. He was all over the place in defense and his carries were gash.

So one more game before Lane gets back in the side (along with Paulo after his dumb suspension tackle)? Then we might finally get our pack looking like it should be:

Campbell-Gillard
Hands (or Hodgson for first 20mins only)
Paulo
Cartwright - has earned his spot this season
Lane
Hopgood

Matterson - coming on after 20mins to do his customary 60mins like last season
Greig
Doorey
Hodsgon / tbc backline game breaker

Maka / Murchie / etc

Agree that Dylan Brown should do a lot better playing with Lane on the edge rather than his current combination.

I love Perth. Did you know that South Perth has a club that is over 75 years old and are the pioneers of Rugby League in WA?
I’m pretty sure that Wenty merkin who briefly played for Manly came from there. The South Perth Smurfs was his junior club.

The last time Matterson started in lock (he wore 13 off the bench) we got dusted 28-0 by Souths in round 22.

We need to try and reset what we did at the back end of last year but we used Marata or Makatoa for the starting lock. Now we have Hopgood someone needs to miss out.

10. Paulo
9. Hodgson
8. RCG
11. Lane
12. Doorey
13. Hopgood

14. Hands
15, Matto
16. Bryce
17. Grieg/Makatoa

Did you go to origin last year.
I don’t give enough of a f**k about Origin to go out on a school night. Last rugby league thing I went to was the Nines a couple of years ago. I also went to Manly vs Warriors in about 2017 plus maybe another game. I can’t really remember.
