I can’t be too critical of tonight.

definite top 4 team and we held them out with 20mins under manned and some really poor calls against us imo.

Penisni was not a professional foul. He didn’t engage at all, guy ran at him and Moses tackled.

Moses tackled without ball

Suaalii knocked on in that contest with Gutho but they rule line drop out

It sucks to a start 1-4 but I don’t know if many teams would have done any better with our draw and the bye situation.

if we go 4-1 over the next 5 as we should with the draw we’ll be fine
Yeah probably should be 3-2 at a minimum left 4 competition points on the table in the first 5 weeks.

Draw definitely opens up should be looking to win 4 from next 5 to get our season back on track anything less I think we start falling too far behind.

I said it weeks ago. The player who could transform our backline is Toupu. He runs the ball hard, good defensively, knows how to find the try line and is a weapon in the air. Talk about X Factor. It comes in all shapes and sizes. Absolute amateur hour if we dont recognise this opportunity with them signing the Newcastle winger. Ffs whats wrong with us?
About f'n time Emu got a decent run. Hes been doing that stuff for 2 years.
Hodgson was ok the first 20 then he fell off a cliff. Hands is the guy.
Totally outcoached last night. The Brave Chooks knew every move we had. I knew Atkins would fu*k us. He always does.
Rant over but I think I have a second instalment in me later.
I can see signs of improvement in Hodgo, and I wouldn't give up on him yet. He's been out for a year with a bad injury. Just finding his feet and regaining confidence. He'll be good for us at the back end of the year.

We defended well. We tried hard. But it's hard to say we where ever in it or not. It felt a bit like the Manly game where we chased but as soon as we got a sniff they turned up the heat and went away again. Almost felt like chasing someone who is way faster then you and they let you get close but then jet again.
I think they just looked a class above us. It's also scary to think of what talent they had out.

In saying that there was some possitives. Bryce is one of them. Matterson also.

One thing we do know is Waqa,Simmonson have to go.
Hodgson I am loosing faith in fast. Murchie is behind Makatoa and Grieg.

So of our signings Hopgood and Doorey have worked out.

Moimesea,Hodgson and Murchie all could of been replaced with cheaper options already at the club. Moimesea I assume signed for peanuts but Murchie had a few clubs interested. I doubt he isnon less then 200-240k.

Sivo was running up hill last night. Instead of running over merkins, he thinks he has a kicking game. You don't. Stop it.

And what would you like him to do on the last tackle when given the ball by Waqa with no space and 3 guys running at him?

Like seriously the Sivo hate is silly. We know his strengths and need to use them.
He went ok.

The thing I will say about murchie is he is an edge backrower not a middle.

BA playing him in the middle doesn't suit his game.

I can see signs of improvement in Hodgo, and I wouldn't give up on him yet. He's been out for a year with a bad injury. Just finding his feet and regaining confidence. He'll be good for us at the back end of the year.

So we drop heaps of game till then? I'd give him 30 mins a game off the bench. Let him find his feet that way. Then if need be a 20 min stint for NSW CUP

I know he’s been out injured but can’t see a great deal of improvement in a 34 yo.

The next 2 games are huge for us. Wins over the tigers and dogs should put us back in contention and out of the spotlight. Lose one of those and we may as well start planning for 2024

Well getting pushed over the sideline is a better result than a 7 tackle set from the 20m line. That's what dumb kicks cause.

When chasing points. Penisni did the same as did Bryce. We where desperate. Sivo is the least of our issues

Agree, and we won't drop them. We are not actually in bad form. If we actually had 50% of the ball at half time last night, we would have won that one.

I didnt say Sivo was a huge problem. Just don't kick the ball ever again. He did v Storm and a dare say cost us the match.

I think we need to win the next 5 and no reason we shouldn't.
We are f**king idiots taking our home game against Brisbane that would of been a sell out to Darwin. Morons

His defence is not improving. The only reason you think he’s improving is because they are hooking him so he can’t fumble about and miss tackles for 80 minutes like he was in the first 3 games. The sooner he’s in NSW cup the better.

for someone that supposedly has leadership, he sure is lacking in that department. He kicked the ball on 3rd when we had a player in the bin. And knocked the ball on and made Gutho challenge. I miss my little mate…

And he ran on the last. The old bloke forgot what tackle it was.
Also was a play down on their line he crabbed sideways and balled the play up. He will get better but I still think at this stage of his career 40mins Max. Hands is a big kid amd hasn't missed a tackle yet. I like what I've seen
