great news..the phone call which woke me up an hour ago was well worth it..

Fuifui Moimoi and Tim Mannah - one of the finest frontrowers the club has ever had probably the greatest frontrow prospect since Caylo.

Taulima - a shoe if for then centre of the rank to play fg had a really solid game the other day.

Burty - what can you say about the second highest point scorer in the clubs history? looking forwars to your 150th game Burty!!!!

I too would like to see a INU/Hayne combo.

Where they switch from wing to centre now and again.

They could have what Tahu/Inu had towards the end.

Parramatta have announced the retention of Luke Burt and Fuifui Moimoi among four contract extensions for the NRL club.
Fullback Burt agreed to terms until the end of 2010 while New Zealand Test squad prop Moimoi will remain at the Eels for the next two years.
Parramatta chief executive Denis Fitzgerald also announced two year deals for young up and comers Taulima Tautai and Tim Mannah.
Tautai played centre in the Eels' Premier League premiership-winning side on Sunday while Mannah was prop in the losing Jersey Flegg grand final side.
"The future of the club looks very bright when players of this calibre re-sign," said Fitzgerald.
"Luke and Fuifui have been regular members of the NRL squad for a number of years now and had tremendous seasons in 2007.
"Taulima and Tim were both involved in grand finals in Premier League and Jersey Flegg respectively and will be pushing for a crack at the NRL in 2008

Agree totally.

Especially with the bit I still can't understand!

Awesome news on all players.

Keen to watch Tim Mannah progress into 1st grade over the next couple of seasons!!

Burty will surely have some cap exemptions and was therefore a critical resigning!

Between Burt, Cayless, Hindmarsh and even Wagon we should look good with some cap exemptions and available funds to keep up and coming juniors.

IMO a lot of this current structure is thanks to Brian Smith!! We really have some buying power with our current structure. Unlike many teams in the comp who couldn't develop or keep players over a long period of time. The exceptions to this rule being Brisbane!!

Anyone think Mannah might get a taste of FG next year with a game or two off the bench?

Admittedly we don't want to dig too deep into our depth if we're to have a successfull season, but still.

One of the things that I like about Burt was a few seasons ago he took a pay cut to stay and now I hope he is rewarded.

Tautai just needs a little more time and he could be a great prospect. Remember he is only 19 still and Tim Mannah is still developing but definately a good prospect. If he can build on his game and add some offloading and passing our pack in 5 years time may be one of the best in the comp.

The 10 year exemption is 100,000 and can be applied to the four players but only to the total of 100,000 rather than per player.

Which is why David Williams probably saw the writing on the wall and realised that Manly was a better opportunity with Bell's age and Matai inconsistency.

Davey was also promised a few things at Manly also, as you said with Bell getting on and Hicks leaving he has a big opportunity to make that side.

Great news on all the re signings :) and the 2 guys that impressed me the most on Sunday were Mannah and Tautai. And how long is Tony Williams signed for?

Burt for 3 more years eh? ... cool .... interesting - wonder what that means in terms of hayne's preference for fullback???

Great to have Fui wrapped up for a bit longer!!

Do all the resignings have to hinge on what Hayne is doing in 2009?
He wants to watch out or he'll be left without any bickies. I am very confident Jarryd will resign with the Eels. If he doesn't - tough luck...How's the old song go?

I have to agree Pete...
Hayne should realise he might just be a better winger than he is a fullback and IMHO that is actually true regardless of where he prefers to play.

He could actually develop into one of the first wingers chosen in NSW and Australian test teams for the next 10 years and could take home Dally M winger of the year for the next 10 years too. He has the speed, chip and chase and footwork as well as finishing ability and strength to be the best specialist winger of the last 20 years (in fact I cant think of another specialist winger with that much skill). He needs someone inside him like Inu and some premierships will no doubt come his way.

Not sure the big $$ on offer at Souths (rumoured to be on offer anyway) will see him continue to represent and the list of fullbacks in front of him for SOO and Test matches is getting longer. Stay on the wing and stay at Parra Jarryd - easy decision.
