He was too busy watching the AFL World Cup held in the Melbourne Suburbs somehwere.

VLAD, go have a look in the fight club forum, there is some great photos from the International AFL world Cup in there.

mate , I've had exactly the same discussions with those numbnut AFL supporters too .

The pinnacle of their game is Collingwood vs Essendon on Anzac day ( their GF is played by interstate teams  )

They killed off their only pretend international competition by playing too rough against the Irish

get it thru your thick skull , you knuckle dragger .... 100 years of RL ... the only expansion has been to Perth (dead) , Adelaide (dead) & Melbourne (propped up by News Ltd $$$ or they'd be dead too)

please don't don't come back with "oh but Townsville & Brisbane & Gold Coast are expansion ya know !!" ...

RL is a great game ... but it is what it is and will never be anything more .

I dont care if you do support gAFL mate. I dont know or even want to know.

You speak sense.

They dont want to see the truth. Its ruining the fantasy.

Meh.

Every dog has its day.

Play Australia or NZ or GB at full strength over a full 3 test series and what do you think would happen???

FFS PNG or France wouldnt dare try that and theyve been at the game for alot longer than the US.

Do you seriously thing ANYONE wouldve turned up if not for phonechukka being involved????

Do you seriously think ANYONE will remember next week when they have the superbowl or after?????

I dont care if souffs make it a yearly event, it wont change a thing.

Sorry I just cant see it mate.

I love League. Id rather see a game like this in Perff or PNG or Wales or Samoa even. Somewhere where theres at least a CHANCE of some future, maybe.

Just my opinion. It may not be popular but thats it mate.

absolutely

Perth wouldve been the spot ... but Rugby Yawnion has filled the void there now , thanx to the NRL bean counters who killed off the Reds .

Both killed by the SL War. They didn't die from lack of support. Coincidently the Reds are back on track to rejoin the NRL in 2010/2012. They are competing in the Jim Beam Cup this year with a team consisting of mostly local Perth players. I'm willing to bet that when the get back in the NRL the AFL is still trying to shove a team on the GC.

But I guess it's fine that the AFL propped up Brisbane and Sydney for well over two decades and gave them massively expanded salary caps all in the name of expansion? Great work genius.

Sad wasnt it, killing off a club in a city that wanted a team, and propping up a club in Melba that no-one really cares about and costs upward of 15mill a year to float.

Id hate to imagine where they get that molah from????:sarcasm:

yes , souths should've moved there when they had the chance ...

We proved we wear only our colours and were prepared to die before merging or re-locating. It will never happen. The same can't be said for other clubs.

The NRL has failed the coast. They have ignored the fans. A real shame.

I'll type this slowly for you banana breath

I'm a season ticketholder of an NRL team

I'm also a season ticket holder of Sydney FC (oh the horror  )

I don't support AFL ... went to a couple of games a few years ago with free tickets and I wished I could've got a refund ;-) .

a few months ago I was mailed a brochure for tickets to the RL World Cup ... and it is going to be a massive embarrasment for this game .... showcasing the the farce that international RL is . 3 countries play this game . RL isn't even the dominant sport in any of those 3 countries . pretending that Lebanon , Russia & outer Mongolia play this game is like pretending that you're built like John Holmes and Jennifer Hawkins is your girlfriend .

Just play the Tri-Series and be happy .

channel 9 are'nt showing any WC games that don't involve Australia , NZ or GB ... that's gotta tell ya something .

You are entitled to your opinion, however misguided it may be. But if you are going to attempt to state a fact (like the sentence that I bolded), it is in your best interests to check these purported facts. If you don't you end up looking rather doltish, as you now do.

As businesses rugby league clubs aren't worth $3 (with the possible exception being the Broncos).

If you think we are embarrassed by what transpired on that Sunday afternoon, well, try another angle.

I've been to a couple of roar games but there's no way in the world I'm buying a season ticket until they learn to win at home.

I thank the heavans every night that I've never been subjected to it.

Unlike you I bought myself tickets and have got a group of about a dozen family and friends going to the Semi in Brisbane. I'll be going to more games by myself too. The RLWC has already made a profit so every cent that they make from ticket sales will go straight back into developing the game.

You're the worst kind of league fan, you hang sh*t on RL by saying it's only played in a few countries and then when the opportunity comes along to enjoy the game and, at the same time, help the game in other nations you ridicule it. I hope you're proud of yourself.

How many countries is RU dominant in? Or basketball? Or cricket?

All you've posted in this thread is your opinion. If you want some actual facts then feel free to check out the international forum or, god forbid, go further afield.

All I know is that I've already got my tickets to the WC and I'm going to enjoy every minute of it.

mate . I'm a realist . like Pim Verbeek said the other day ... "reality can be harsh"

apart from the obvious sarcasm ;-) ... what have I posted that isn't a fact ?

If you think seeing lop sided contests against sides made up with people whose grandparents once had a dirty weekend in some foreign land makes a WC then you're too easy to please .

If you've already bought tickets at full price then you're dumber than I thought because the freebies and discounts will be flowing when it gets closer to game times . Compared to the Soccer WCs where you go into a ballot to get tickets and are blessed if you get 10% of what you ask for .

p.s the Roar will choke in 2 weeks time ;-)
