south sydney were formed in 1908 to represent the south sydney area.

in 1908 the eastern suburbs roosters were formed to represent sydneys eastern suburbs.

where did they go?

well done to souths.

the only true remaining foundation club left. they have the same colours and name as in 1908, unlike the roosters who are embarrased to represent sydneys eastern suburbs.

and who needs juniors when you can buy bulldogs players.
1. The Roosters kept their same colours since 1908.

2. The Roosters are still registered in the NRL as the Eastern Suburbs District Rugby League Football Club, only their marketing name has change, and if you ask most fans yes that pisses us off too.

3. We have been at Moore Park since 1911, you sold your soul to go to Telstra Stadium. That's really representing your area. Moore Park is on the borderline of Souths/Roosters territory.

4. SSJRLFC is set up in Kingsford, Roosters territory before it was stolen in 1954.

5. A large proportion of your team is from other clubs, not juniors.

I'm not saying we are perfect, but don't throw rocks in a glass house.

Les Catalans are 1 team made up of has been Aussies & Kiwis who play in another country's competition ... not their own country .

ditto for Celtic Crusaders who play in the English 2nd tier comp .

Confucious says ... "don't quote me if you know f@#$ all" ;-)

I'll quote you ,you know f...all.
French players :Younes Khattabi,Jamel Fakir,Thomas Bosc,Sebastien Raguin,Julien Touxgas,Mathieu Griffi,Remi Casty ,Cyrillle Gossard and Vincent Duport.
Celtic Crusaders now promoted to NL1,with the opportunity to apply for a SL licence in 2009.This club also has a senior Academy(local players)for development to the senior team.
You are going downl faster than a beer in the Gobi Desert.
Many EPL sides have players from around the world at the expense of home grown products,as does union.

lol @ banana breath

get it thru your thick skull , you knuckle dragger .... 100 years of RL ... the only expansion has been to Perth (dead) , Adelaide (dead) & Melbourne (propped up by News Ltd $$$ or they'd be dead too)

please don't don't come back with "oh but Townsville & Brisbane & Gold Coast are expansion ya know !!" ...

RL is a great game ... but it is what it is and will never be anything more .
Which is more than AFL is.

Thats the biggest straw clutch ive seen.

Why not compare gAFL and domestic soccer to NRL and International Soccer and international Union to International League???

Cos you will lose the argument b4 it begins???

No sh*t einstein, thats the point of my argument. There are sports much worse of in this country compared to league. FMD, are you really that thick ?

the crowds were exactly what they budgeted for in season 1 ... 10k
and how can you say that an increse was expected after you said the standard was not what was promised ? Especially with a salary cap of not much more than Beckham earns in a week !
expansion wasn't expected until after season 5 but it looks like coming in 2 years early on the Gold Coast and in Townsville . (the AFL will be cr@pping themselves about the GC with RL and Soccer there)

will it overtake league & AFL ? I'll answer that but asking a question of you ... where do you see RL & AFL getting any bigger than they are now ... given the domesticity of their respective sports ?

AFL - will not get any bigger, maybe another side in QLD or NSW thats all the growth they will have. If the AFL consider a few expats getting together and having a kick in some 1/2 assed competiton, in some town in the USA, or Upper Mongolia, with 4 teams and some players play for all 4 sides depending on availability, then all power to them.

RL - Nationally there is growth, but this will not occur for a few years. The Titans have now given all other possible future franchises the blue print to ensure success. Trust me AFL will not be a success on the coast, there are a few expat vics, wa, sa, but this area is a RL stronghold. Internationally it is much the same, I have no doubt there is growth coming in other countries, this will not happen until the RL community get serious about the $$ needed to do this, and having the $$ available, and the balls to make the decision to push ahead. Cannot see anything major for 10 years. I would be surprised if they even have an International expansion plan in place.

Dude it's sad that you accuse everyone who don't like the Roosters of being Souths fans.
He's not a Souths fan.
Half our team are imports the half juniors.
We stole no junior clubs from you, most clubs playing in those areas where formed way after 1954.
Clubs that were registered under Easts actually deregistered themselves and jumped ship from Easts comp to go under Souths jrs.
Rugby League is not the number 1 sport in Bondi.

the irony of a roosters fan bagging clubs that try and expand RL.

a club with no juniors and hardly any crowds and basically bludge off other clubs.

if they wanted to do the right thing by RL theyd move to the central coast and leave souths to be the popular city RL team.

LMFAO.

Homiebush 1 stop from the CC.:sarcasm:

souths develop juniors.

they are loved in sydney as shown by 80,000 marching the streets to get them back

they have retained their name and are proud of the area they represent

how many of those apply to the SYDNEY CITY  roosters

well you might get 80,000 marching to get them out of the nrl
