The difference is that we are not old men and therefore do not suffer from the affliction known as stubbornness.
you sure about that? :-k

If you are an old man, I shall have to hunt you down before your pheromones drift back to the Coven.
Nah I'm just kidding.
Our board are just....well.....ingenious.
They have engineered our future success so delicately.....
That calculation doesn't even factor in reduced sponsorship dollars, decreased merchandise sales and lower walk-up ticket sales, which are all very much part of the picture when you've finished on the bottom rungs of the premiership for two years in a row with a coach that many fans at the games (judging by comments) now consider a dud coach.
While we may expect the club to baulk at making this payout, on the other hand there comes a time when it makes good business sense to move early and spend that money (before membership renewal time), in the hope of off-setting potential future cash losses (from the decrease in STH/membership, sponsorship and merchandising) if Kearney stays....
Let Arthurs stay and have next year as coach (without much of an increase in wage, since Chris Anderson has already been hired and can oversee) and we won't even have the full cost of paying two coaches in 2013, giving us time without Kearney to search and find the right person and hire them for 2014.
Even Hindy's last game will fail to draw a decent crowd I fear. That's what happens if you perform as badly as we have.
i hope it does from memory caylo's last game pulled a pretty good crowd and that was against the warriors people should just forget about the rest of the season (if only it were that easy) and focus on sending out hindy and burt in style
I go into games expecting us to win
whats that feel like? i forget :-k

Great post. Our crowds have been abysmal this year too.
Mate, people are desperate for success.
Wrong.
Considering our really crap form, last years result's and our position on the table, our crowds have been excellent.
Hell, we sold the joint out against the Tiges when they were third last and we were last.
Mate, people are desperate for success.
Behold the tide when we finally have some.

i like most of your posts but surely this is a case of confirmation bias....Good post Tommy Coco. You certainly know your stuff.
nothing wrong with a five year plan if you can see forward progress along the way, and your milestones (say each year) give you tangible improvements. hasler did this at manly. in his first year there was an article in one of the weekly league rags with the front page heading "i can coach". thing was des stuck it to everyone with his five year plan which included signing a marquee or key play player each year for five years with improved results.Smartest posts of the day :thumn.

Well said. That's the smartest post I've read all day!
Will Hindy give 100% for the rest of the year?
hahaa got me.Absolutely. I was mocking all of the similar posts immediately preceding my own.
Surely that wasn't the first case of confirmation bias you've seen on this forum?
Tell me if this looks familiar:
Unfortunately your memory doesn't serve you correct on this occasion. We only drew 11 thousand to Cayless's last game and it was our 3rd lowest crowd of 2010. There were actually a lot of Warriors and Kiwis fans in attendence and they gave him a standing ovation as he left the field. It would be great if fans do what you're suggesting but I just have a feeling it will be a low drawing game and if the club do decide to move it to ANZ it could be embarrassing.
You've obviously never met a two-year old.
2 Sydney teams. Last game for Hindy, Burt, Hornby and Young. Definitely last Eels game for the year. Quite likely last Dragons game for the year. Should be a decent crowd.
If it's free for STH of other clubs, could be a really big crowd.
