It surely has to be Inu's spot next year, so I think the best bet is to continue developing what we have, and use Mannering/Brown as cover until Hurrell is up to it. Our 'spare' cash is better spent on upgrading what we already have, IMO.

I don't like the idea of using Brown in the centres. He's less effective there and I don't like his defensive combination with Vatuvei.

Similar Mannering - his form has been far improved after shifting back to the second row.

We have too many second rowers; this doesn't mean we should automatically play them out of position to cover an area of weakness. I want us to really drive to find a couple of wing/centre specialists. There must be someone in the NRL/ESL/reserve grade who is good enough.

We have the starting players but no depth, and two of our star outside backs are massively injury prone.

If throwing money at potential signings means releasing a second rower or 2, so be it. I'd rather see them starting at other clubs than being wasted in the Vulcans.

If we are willing to pay a good 100 grand more than anyone else then we could maybe get Tonga, unless he has already signed with the Eels.

I'd sat we have quite a bit of money left, release a back rower and maybe. As the first post stated

Hohaia
Berrigan
Moon
Metcalf
Latimore
Robinson (not sure on this one but I seem to remember reading he's gone??)
Heremaia
Seymour

---> out

and

Friend
<--- in

Unless Locke got a massive upgrade then there should be a bit of money floating round.

I just brought his name up because he is really the only star centre not contracted. I'd like to think Inu will be a starting centre next season anyway.

Apologies if it's been mentioned elsewhere but, according to RLW, Likiliki has re-signed to us from the Knights

We have a fair load of money sitting round. Apparently we are well under the cap this season too. Its great seeing that the club arent throwing our money at mediocre Aussies and are really rewarding the Juniors for their success.

Well said Blain.
If there is no one on the market who are better quality than our juniors, or how our juniors will be mid-season then we may as well save our coin.
I mean IF Maloney decides to leave at the end of next season then we will need to invest heavily on a half.
Also, the cap rises at the end of next year and SBW will be out of contract.....
Not sure if i would like him signing for us, but theres no doubting his talent!

good.

a lot of people seem to think that unless someone has "made in Australia" stamped on their arse, they cant play rugby league.

Friend is a total waste of cap - almost as big a waste as Seymour, but not quite.

Get used to seeing young kiwi juniors playing for the Warriors, starting next year...

Friend over Heremaia anyday. If you think otherwise, you must be .

Hooker is a spot which is so crucial to a side, Heremaia is solid, but friend is certainly a big step up. When we have the cash, we would be silly not to upgrade in a position where we lack a bit. I cant wait to see a spine of

1. Locke

6. Maloney
7. Johnson

9. Friend

All can win games by themselves, in their own ways. If our forwards keep dominating, we could see something pretty special next season IMO.

You mean other than the ones playing regular FG this year who've progressed through the Kiwi junior ranks? Mannering, Vatuvei, Sam Rapira, Packer, Matulino, Locke, Tupou, Johnson, Taylor. Guess we could even include Godinet, too. That's 10 of this week's 17.

Not counting Ropati, seeing as he's been injured. Got Steve Rapira, too. Louisi's played FG this year, as well.

What a travesty!

ETA: Oh yeah, Mara, too. Shocking lack of juniors playing for the Warriors!

See, what you have to understand is that Ozbash is an idiot.
