looking very professional. He was a touch lucky picking up a good #9 who are a rarity these days but
DeGois is back to where he should never have left.

Any coach that can make Best perform like a professional centre can just about do anything. Colin's
beginning to think he has a passing game and all Mathew Wright has to do is position himself better
for goal line defence. The forwards are great and maybe I was wrong about Robson when I said he
was barely adequate as a half. Carney the NSW 5/8 definitely.

Even the Raiders losing that shitty green colour didn't help them. The scoreline says they were flogged
when really they played as well as you can with about 40% of the ball. It was no fluke that's all they had
because Carney made sure of it.

Tigers are barely fighting off being the court jester. It's a miracle they didn't walk off the field after 70 minutes.

Furner on the other hand has just about used up his nine lives over the last couple of years and that
40% of the ball I was talking about won't count in the 4 weeks he's been given

mighty Gus (Jabba) Gould who has never left a club in as good a condition as he found it and in the other
Wayne (Benny) Bennett who is expected to work wonders with players not of his making.

I haven't bothered checking so I'm not sure how the Knights or Panthers were travelling this time last year
but I guess it couldn't have been much worse. Elliott and Stone must be feeling a bit better about themselves
which is a good thing as both are gentlemen.

I digress. Back on topic, the highlight of the season tonight is the return of Willie Mason. Can you imagine that.
After all the pre-season hype about the expected resurgence of Penrith and the outright favouritism of the Knights
all we can look forward to is the return of wee Willie.

Wait don't you see yourself as a coaching connoisseur? You didn't watch many Panthers games in the last few years if you think Matthew Elliott has anything to be happy about in his time at Penrith. We've been one of the worst performing teams of the last 5 years. In fact I seem to remember a poster providing mathematical proof that only Melbourne have performed worse.

It'll take Cleary some time to sort the trash from the cash.
