You know by now I'm a believer anyone playing NRL has talent. I would have no more reason to write him
off than I would Bowen but Ben still has a way to go to match Matty. Neither could hope to stop an Inglis
offload just as Inglis could never hope to stop either of these blokes one on one with the width of the field
at their disposal. Inglis's biggest advantage is he doesn't need protection

Very true re: one of them stopping an Inglis offload, or Inglis being able to counter one of their steps. Yep Benny's got a long way to go. Stoked to see him under Dessie now though, should go from strength-to-strength.

Lyon doesn't play or the Dragons have someone in the halves with even half a footy brain and the
game is a non event. The Seagles were let off the hook enough times to make a fisherman go broke.
One thing for Folkes to make robots in defence but Price has to find someone who can direct them in
attack. Better for everybody if Hornby was phased out with an experimental half sooner rather than later.

If I was a street bum I would hang around Brian Smith's garbage bin. Miles could rival Carney as buy of the year
and the Titans are now awash with Origin forwards. Except for 18 months of inept management, which always will
affect players, it's easy to forget how strong the Titans were from their inception in '06. Plenty of talented youngsters
willing to risk their future with Carty as well. Keeping Bird in the engine room and away from decision making is a good move.

Cowboys are starting to see demons, imaginary or otherwise, and their play is becoming too telegraphic. Years of
being the lone hand in the halves may be restraining JT from sharing the load with Thompson but the defence is
marking him too easily. Between those two and Bowen injecting himself more the Cowboys should be much harder to read.

This is going to ruffle a few feathers but I think not letting Kasiano for example play Origin is petty. If a
player is eligible he should be allowed to play anywhere. The Kiwis don't whinge when Slater is
allowed to tune his skills at the highest level and then play against them. Why can't Jack Reed step up
and play in the toughest arena and take that experience back to the poms. Everyone loves to cry
about the international game being predictable yet the perfect way to improve it is ignored.

There are those that say 50 grand is too much for 80 minutes work. I'd like to grab the pricks who
promote that rubbish and thump the f**k outta them. The effort required to reach and stay at Origin
level is far beyond their feeble imagination. Most players put a lifetime into a 10 year career that
pleases a multitude of arse sitters who have no consideration of what happens after.

Mario Fenech might be a simpleton but you can't deny the effort he puts in, especially with young
people. Great to see him c**k-a-hoop about Souths chances. Little does he realise the Rabbitohs have
already done enough this year. They have laid a concrete slab that may endure anything but a future
earthquake and all that is necessary now is mortgage the joint to keep Maguire.

Can see the press winding themselves up to crucify Price now that Harrigan's almost finished and
they've been slapped in the face by Cleary. Bennett could see the Dragons needed new blood and if
they took the Newcastle way he probably would still be there. If the Red V lowers its standards to that
degree and not continue to search for untapped talent it would be sacrilege imo. Price is playing the
cards in front of him better than most could and all he needs is a footy brain on the paddock.

Electronic mouthguards to monitor concussion may work. Next step is to wire up players to receive an
electric shock when they don't do what the coach wants. A few arsehole pig hunters have been doing
that to their dogs for years.

Watched both games whilst preoccupied with family celebrations and definitely should have drank more
water but here goes. Journos love players that are spontaneous as it allows them to wax lyrical in
their columns in an attempt to emulate Shakespeare. Usually however players like Farrar and Marshall
that rely on spontaneity are overrated because they play for themselves first and the team second.
F**k knows it's taken him long enough but Sheens may have finally instilled some discipline into the Tigers.

Rabbitohs and Dogs appear to have arrived at a similar point in time. Both have a lot of fine tuning to do
but neither coach has anything to fear from the gutter press. Souths imo gave the impression they may
have left their best effort on the training paddock in preparation for this game . . . just a hint of lethargy in
last night's effort. Appears we will have to put up with the resurrection of Inu for some time to come.
Makes you want Carney to have a night on the piss

In the morning rags we have Burgess blaming a soft whistle for the demise of Souths. Nothing to do with him being
asked on Fox what he thought of Graham's playing prowess? Players have appeared before on Fox prior to meeting
each other on the paddock and battles have resulted . . . a coincidence or post hypnotic suggestion?

Looks to be a case of not what you know but who you know. Dave Furner has been shown more than the usual patience.
I've said before he's coaching a team without a footy brain on the paddock but who's to blame for that. Not completing
sets according to the scrolls but why would they when no-one knows what to do after 5 tackles anyway.

I could have been having my afternoon nap when the Eels changed from giving Kearney full support to 2 weeks probation.
Then again no surprises for me from the head of the river . . . you've only got to see how well Jonathon Wright is travelling
at the Dogs. Kearney would be better advised to start again somewhere else anyway given Parramatta's penchant for
disregarding talent in coaches as well as players.

Moltzen still not offered a contract means the Dragons or anyone else cannot be accused of poaching which is the way
I detest player movements. Maybe Moltzen's agent has let dollars cloud his judgment and Tim might find himself living in fibro.

Farrar may be forced to play a full 80 in Origin, what's the game coming to. We all know the Blues need two #9's
. . . one to play Cam and another to play Smith

If the Warriors put as much effort in every game as when against Melbourne they would be
running second in the competition. This game could have gone either way and it's only their
usual 80 minute effort that saved the Storm this time. Smith's first try this year was unlike any
other I've seen from him and who said he can't generate some pace when need be.
When it comes to enigma in League the Warriors take the cake

Biggest surprise this morning was that Ricky Stuart has given Paul Gallen a reprieve. Said it before I
know but imo there has never been a dumber move in Origin than restricting the best lock in the
game. Just about as smart as restoring a muscle car to use as a tow truck. Tim Grant has all the right
body parts and if attitude rears it's head he could be a permanent fixture. The greatest threat to Q is
common sense.

Herald says that Stuart says Carney will improve. Some of the statements from the blue corner must
embarrass the shit out of their supporters. Ivan Cleary should be employed as a decorum coach and
he should be given the power to fine any individual in an official capacity with the team who makes
such dumb statements.

........unless it is aHolden or Chev, as that is all they are good for :D:D:D

I can see where you are Coming from Pops and agree with your opinion re: Gallen......in my opinion, it is good to see Stuart sticking with the same Players, and getting them used to playing for each other, by doing this IMO there has been an improvement over the last 2 years, Queensland have been doing this for years wether a player has been out of form or not, and it has worked a treat for them

All great coaches see each game as two games. Train all week and make sure the team is up to scratch
in the basics for the first 40 minute game. Tell the players what they have to do in the second 40 minute
game and then it's up to them. Kearney told the players what was needed to turn possession around and
finally they listen. If the players are hypocritical enough only to perform when their coach is threatened
with the axe it's not the fault of the coach. Kearney is well within his rights to tell the Parramatta board
to go f**k themselves.

Stuart should just pick his team for three games and let it be known to all and sundry there is no use asking
him to comment on how he thinks they're going. This team for the 2nd game is what it should have been for
the first in so much as having a specialist prop. Injuries or players not being 100% fit are the only reasons
to change an Origin team.

Absolutely agree with you here, hopefully putting Gallen back where he belongs and having a specialist prop is the last piece of the puzzle in place

and thank you again this thread is like a breath of fresh air around these parts

Well, I suppose the bad must be taken with the good. My desire to see one of my fancied coaches
succeed is not going to be diminished by seeing Hayne doing his hypocritical impersonations.
Last night's win was ALL about Kearney imo and the last thing any meathead player should want known
is he finally stepped up after half a season.

Gallen says everything's ok so either he puts Origin before his team or he is worried about an injury that
could escalate into something much more serious. Either way someone is going to suffer because his
workrate won't allow him to cruise through it. He needs to stop, think and fix.

Eels boss says he told Kearney on the weekend his job was safe until at least the start of '14. If I was
him I would have countered with "I'll stick around 'til then provided you and the players give me
something to work with". Maybe it would have been better for them to let the players keep thinking
their coach was under threat if that's the only way they'll stop drinking Parramatta River water.

Missed yesterday's stageplay about Gould and Warren getting involved in a conspiracy to produce negativity
over the government's pokie reforms. We're talking about two blokes that can't even concentrate on calling
a game for 80 minutes let alone preempt something requiring that high an IQ.

It looks as though I'll be taking Hasler's picture off the wall. He's rapidly fading from my view as a supercoach
and imo will have to be content with just being great. When the Dogs were renowned for representing an area
where young blokes would rather throw a football than bullets he may not have to had resort to poaching
but nevertheless it doesn't excuse it.

A third option could be medical advise from the club doctor.

I'm not about to get embroiled in any discussion over Gallop except to say he was never going to last long,
no matter what he said, after the formation of the Commission. The Commission was formed in the first place
to deny one man having control over such a volatile organisation as Rugby League. Why there is a need for
a CEO is beyond me when a board makes decisions and the chairman of that board hands those decisions down.

Just as a postscript there is no reason why board members either collectively on a special occasion or selectively
as a matter of course visit heartland areas in an effort to show much more solidarity between the heirarchy and
grass root volunteers

That's a relief given all the discussion that takes part in this thread.

Yes, it is obvious that people are content to read my posts and either agree or disagree silently.
Without an occasional word from someone or the number of views rising steadily I would have given up long ago.
Of course anything is preferable to people like you who offer nothing and spend most of their lives either
polishing their dicks or their mirrors
