Probably be a few more days before Gallop outlives his usefulness to journos who either supported or
berated him. A bigger concern, reading between the lines, is what aspirations does Gould have and
how naive, if at all, is the ALRC. Why there is a need for a front man to replace Gallop when the
money could be better spent on behind the scenes professionals is hard to fathom.
Tamou says he is determined to become a permanent Origin prop and if Grant makes a good fist of it
NSW could be starting at the right end first in their attempt at a common sense revival. Of course more
than two props are needed and Aaron Woods should be blooded sooner rather than later with perhaps
someone like Galloway. Form is never going to be a real concern with these blokes just as it isn't with Miles.
Great to see Sika Manu stay in Australia. The Storm's policy of showing faith in juniors willing to
relocate in a foreign environment may be necessary but like Nielsen who can command the money he
deserves elsewhere the time has come. Manu may not have the same longevity to offer the Panthers
but Gould is a believer that Melbourne players bring with them a no nonsense patina.
Not sure what a Todd Carney 'backlash' is supposed to mean. Possibly a poor term to describe what
Carney will eventually become. Left alone, the way he is at the Sharks, he can only go forward in
Origin. He has more concerns with the NSW media than he'll ever face on the paddock. He and
Gallen are players that were born to play in this arena
