That first half was as close to a fix as I've ever seen.

David nofoaluma no try, manly score next set (keep in mind hayne ruled no try on the block, but allowed the play to go 60m)

Cherry-Evans regathers from a chip and chase after pushing a defender out of the way, no penalty, manly score next play

Cherry-evans trips Mitch Moses, no penalty, manly score next set

Sue offloads backwards, hits a manly players foot, sue picks it back up, knock on

Stewart tackles Sironen n mid air, manly get the line drop out, score next set

Every single try was from blatant ref fuxk ups, it's beyond a joke, a team like manly don't need extra help against an injury ridiculed tigers. Hayne needs to be fcked off completely. Chances are manly always win and win well, but he made it not a contest after 25mins and ruined it for everyone

I'm glad Farah called out Hayne for being an arrogant piece or shit. How the merkin was held in such high esteem is beyond me, he has never been the best ref, the biggest ego yes but definitely nowhere near the best. Problem I think is refs want to be the next Bill Harrigan, i.e a strong personality who's fame rivals that of players and they think having a superiority complex will achieve this.

Can't argue with anything you say - you have a right to be pissed. The turning point in the game came very early on due to a refs error. The tigers should've been on the board very early on & Manly shouldn't have been. How long after that did it take the tigers to score their first points, that they should've already had?

The problem is, if Hayne goes, who replaces him?

I hate the inconsistency - The bloody video ref interferes with decisions & tells the ref he got it wrong sometimes. Why didnt he say last night , "Shane, you'd better give me a good look at that"?

100 % Agree. If Shayne Hayne ever referees at NRL level again, the game is a joke. He was either just incompetent and inept last night (the nicest I can say about that performance without defaming him).

I was gonna say the same thing. Knob models himself on Harrigan.

The NRL needs to go ahead and rule out the video ref speaking when they are not spoken to. Otherwise, their selectivity is controversial and baffling

Does anybody know what the actual rule is for what the video ref can change? I see them do it with goal line drop outs a lot, is it just that?

I don't want everything reviewed. However last night the nofo no try was shown 3 or 4 times before the scrum was packed and Siro being tackled mid air twice before the goal line drop out. Manly scored off both the next sets. This is an 18 point turn around!

Is there an actual rule or do they just pick and choose when they butt in?

Who was the video referee last night and why wasn't these calls made. There was a break in play on each occasion so the correct calls could have been made, the video ref from last night should be sacked as well as Hayne.

"Neutral" :lol:

Positive he does not follow WT. Therefore, for the point of this discussion, he IS neutral.
If you are not convinced of his impartiality, have a look at the avatars of Saints, Broncos, Cronullla fans who all agree that the ref screwed up royally on this one.
Of course, as a Manly fan, you would say it was no try.
And that DCE does not head crush or trip.
Or that snake didn't tackle Sirro in mid air.

I nearly put a brick through the tv in the second half. There was an obvious Manly fan sitting close to the on-ground mikes.
When the merkin ref eventually gave us a couple of penalties after the game was long decided from his earlier f**k-ups, you could hear this prick saying "oh come on ref . .why don't you give them another penalty . . in his best sarcastic dickhead voice. Made me want to cross the Spit and headbutt him into reality.

So firechild . . . please share your thoughts on DCE's grubbiness.
Oh, and try to be neutral.

Billy used to make up the rules as he went along. We can do without a return to his style.

You said something like that last week too.

While Wests got a couple of poor calls, they were also nowhere near good enough to match the opposition on the night. Blaming the refs is fine when you lose by 2 but not when you lose by 32.

They were denied a fair chance. Inside the opening 10 minutes, the referees had stripped the Tigers of 4 points they should have had, potentially 6 while gifting the Sea Eagles two tries they should never have received with possession they should never have had. Why should a team have to overcome such blatantly poor refereeing to win a game?

Manly basically had the game handed to them, when they were raging favorites in the first place. What chance did the Tigers have at overcoming those decisions? They didn't have anything go their way until the game was already decided.

I think they were deflated by the events of the first few minutes and never recovered, sure enough, but a good side dusts itself off and reverts to the game plan, rather than dwelling on perceived poor decisions.

I remember the Balmain 1988 Tigers who endured an appalling decision at the very same ground to disallow a try that cost them a crucial game against a Manly team that appeared to have been awarded the premiership in July, and put them in serious jeopardy as regards reaching the finals. Rather than deflating the team, it galvanised them and they did not lose another game (including TWO wins over us) until the Grand Final.
