Then there was that penalty against Tate (?) for a high tackle that was just a brush of the throat, or the one against Slater for the elbow (haven't seen the replay but it looked accidental). They were two bad calls against Qld but by then the damage had already been done...
What? Accidental! Slater has form and it looked pretty deliberate to me and most other people. Refs only saw if on replay.
I am completely unbiased as I could not care who wins.
The refing in game one was passable with the odd mistake.
The refing in game two was a stream of constant penalities 4-0 in the first 20-25 minutes and was systematically biased.
Anybody who knows anything about modern Rugby League knows it is all about momentum and field position. I think the possession was 127 tackles to 24 at one stage. Thats huge. On top of that possession comes fatigue. Which means that while you get the ball you are too fatigued to do anything with it.
That ain't rocket science. I'm sprouting the obvious....even to a Queenslander.
The refs were intimidated by the crowd and had a shocker. That is a fact, no matter what Queensland supporters say.
I am so sick and tired of refing standard at the moment. It is so bad. The strip rule sux. Get rid of it. Make players hold onto the ball.
