The best of all

Guy Fawkes Night. Kids would love that today.

I was only allowed to have the little bangers.

My brother would have the rockets and it would go off.

Used to have this.

I used to shoot mice as a kid and go out in the backyard and shoot at my toy soldiers.

Then you looked for the slugs to do it again.

My first video game. When we got a colour TV and saw it in colour I nearly blew my load.

You know that was my first foray into gaming my parents bought their first colour television it was a Kreisler my mother loved it because it matched the furniture, but the real good thing about the TV is it come in built with ping pong...

This was the first game I remember playing on the Commodore 64. It was on cassette and would take minutes to load.

You never went to Cash a Can?

I had fond memories of crushing all the empties on our driveway in imaginative ways. Fave was to stand on the can with one foot then quickly touch both sides so that the can crushed flat. Chucked em in a garbo bag and there would be a bloke at the trailer on the weekend that used to weigh them and give you money.

Now its all automated but the cans and plastic bottles have to be intact. No fun.

Aaaaahh yes. I remember the ad.. and before even playing that clip I remember the song. But I never ended up going to one.

I remember watching Rocky Laurie being at the Roosters and in 1977 I thought he was going to be a very good player, he went to Souths in 1978 to 1980 before switching back to Easts in 1981. In 1978 both games he carved up East, a close game at Redfern then the game at The Sports Ground, Russell Fairfax played 5/8 for Easts and Rocky Laurie and Garry Wright ran through him lots of time leaving him grasping at thin air, close game again but Souths were by far the better side that day. Another thing I remember was the try Rocky scored for Souths against Saints in the first semi in 1980 where he got the ball down just inside the corner post.
Rocky's brother Mark is one of my all time favourite Eels players, very underrated footballer, never played a bad game IMO. And of course, being Rocky's younger brother, his nickname was Pebbles...

Watching an old test match from 1978 - Aus v NZ at the SCG....

I love seeing all the old signage around grounds in retro matches, and some companies long since gone by the wayside..

but saw on one for this..
