Finch gone backwards? He never went forward in the first place.

As for Tupou, he has been our best player this year. A superstar who would look even better in a more stable team.

Exactly. You just proved my point.

Funny how the Roosters 58-6 win over the Warriors in 04 cost Daniel Andersons job now the Warriors thrashing of the Roosters in 06 has cost Stuart his job.....

Good job i love every minute of this, one less moaning coach out of the NRL

We were only just discussing the ironies now actually...

Ivan Cleary was a deputy of Ricky Stuart
Cleary's triumph over Stuart (twice to boot) ultimately led to his demise
Anderson's loss to the Roosters sealed his fate
The Warriors lost to Stuart in the Grand Final
Stuart fell on his deathbed losing to the Warriors

The ironies and twists of fates.

Hi To All,
I am disgusted, once again the roosters management are seen to be what they are, just a bunch of hens in a rooster house, walking around the house with their head on the ground, pickin up dirt.Ricky Stewart, is the best coach we have seen at the roosters since jack gibson.who else one us a grand final in 20 years, took us to 3 consecutive grand finals and should have one another one.Once again the roosters borad, including the shy and sensitive used car salesman, mr not so politis have got it wrong,Daniel Anderson, Forget it, John Lang Maybe, Gus gould Never, and freddy is too smart to get into that argument. My sons and i got to see the roosters win a grand final, i have now seen them win 2, THANKS RICKY, I hope my sons get to see them win another one, my support over 25 years has possibly had enough of the so called stars of the rugby league world.
Thanks again Ricky i will miss you.

I am a fan of stuarts and will always look back on our best years with joy as we went into every game with the right attitude and commitment.
He did inherit the seeds of a good team but he turned them into a super team and got the best out of the 2001 most oevr rated player as voted by his peers,Freddie Fittler. He done it 3 years in a row..no club has come close to that this decade...he must have some ability.

I guess the questions to be asked are regarding his recruitment and plans for the future and how this relates to their current form.
The roosters hierarchy must know something we all dont regarding this.

This has got to be a no-brainer.

John Lang...... look at what he accomplished with Penrith given the right timeframe and playing/coaching staff. He took the chocolate soldiers from the spoon to the title in 2 seasons!

No reason he can't do the same at Bondi.

Just outta interest.... will this affect Ricky Stuart's roll as Australian coach?

Langy played at the Chooks as well.

What rubbish, Anderson took a Warriors side that the previous year to him coming in 2000 had finished 2nd to last and took them to 3 finals campaigns in a row including a Grand Final. It was only personality clashes that brought it crashing down in 2003, not actual coaching ability.

As for the St Helens playing roster, well you can apply the same logic to Stuart if you want to. He's only succeeded when he's had a great squad and in particular Brad Fittler, when Freddy hung up the boots it all turned to custard despite several high profile signings. Also with NSW and Australia he had far superior squads to Qld and Australia.

Correct Weight.

Oh contrare.... err, have you?

My point is this

5 seasons
3 Grand Finals
1 Grand Final win
1 Minor Premiership
1 out of 1 Origin series success
1 out of 1 test match success

"Turned a world class team into the rabble you see today"? No. You could counter argue that he took a team who hadn't won a grand final in 20 years to winning one. However, that's far too simplistic a view of things. Far too simplistic. The old cliche "the buck stops with the coach" is becoming outdated. There are a myriad of stakeholders who have a vested interest and input into the outcome of a club. To feeble mindedly put it that the Roosters won solely because of Brad Fittler is rank ordinary comment. That's the part that ryles me the most in the criticism of Ricky Stuart. That does a severe injustice to Craig Fitzgibbon, Luke Ricketson, Craig Wing, Anthony Minichiello, Luke Phillips, Simon Bonetti, Peter Cusack, Adrian Morley, Shannon Heggarty and the like who were managed well enough to hit in most cases career best form under Stuart for 3 out of his 5 seasons. That's not a bad effort whatsoever from the club, or the coach. To label either a failure or to label either solely reliant on Brad Fittler is a load of horsecr@p and completely and utterly unjustified.

Stuart's record speaks for itself.

Yes he had 5 seasons but two of those were horrible and he couldn't even make it to the 6th.
Any coach could have taken that Roosters side to the GF all those times. Nobody rememebers the minor premiers and that mains me to say that being an Eels supporter. He did win the origin series but only because Johns came in. Before that he lost to one of the worst QLD sides ever. The Australian team was so much better than the NZ team it wasn't funny when Stuart coached them.
