Unfotunately for Smiith who made the announcement last night Ricky has made no statement and on the news this morning the assistant coach is taking over the EEls for the rest of this seaon.

I thought after Stuart bailed on the Sharks he said he wasn't going to just take the next available appointment that comes up. He would only go to a club that was "right for ricky stuart". Seems like he's done exactly what he said he wasn't going to do...

I think with coaches like Bellamy, Hasler, Griffin, Macguire, Henry and Flanagan going pretty well Stuart has realised he's suddenly well down the pecking order and should take whatever he can.

The past re: coaching is highly irrelevant...just ask Sheens Cleary & Bennett

Eels had to do something....Stuart though needs new attacking ideas imo.

At least Smith's credibility will not suffer if he is wrong.

The man who released Isaac Degois to sign Corey Hughes.

Good luck with that.

I would be so pissed off if my team up and beat the storm on the week i left an underachieved the rest of the year - that place needs a clean out more than anywhere - i dont like to say it - but starting at their fullback - he is their best player but his attitude stinks and it goes across to the rest of the team who think they can play like him by simply turning up.

i would rather have a team of workers than 1 superstar.

How do you know it stinks? ( dont bring up the manly match he went shopping either)

2 points.

The roosters circa 2000 to 2004 was built by others , not Stuart.

The NSW win in 2005 was courtesy of one A.Johns

Stuart has never built anything in his coaching career , his time at parra is going to be very interesting.

Personally I'm stunned someone as destructive as him could be trusted to re-build a club.

What are your thoughts on John Lang?

his club coaching record is pretty ordinary outside of his first 2 years with he roosters

frankly i think the raiders dodged a bullet. Be interesting to see how he goes about turning it around at parra, he's got his work cut out for him thats for sure

Because Furner's record is sooooo much better

Since he left Cronulla in 2010 half the NRL clubs have changed coach. Yet another moron with a ridiculous comment.

Thats why the Raiders wanted him and there was also huge interest from the Roosters. That's why he is quitting his current coaching gig you f*cking useless numpty!!!!!!!

Raiders didn't want him idiot. The board has backed Furner the whole way, no one has approached Stuart from the Raiders. I would be surprised if the Roosters wanted him as well after they sacked him once before. Stop believing everything that dribbler Slothfield says.

don't know if this is good news or bad news

Indeed.

Though I wish the Eels well, they still have my sympathy after losing to the storm cheats, I wonder if any coach can turn the shipwreck that is Parra around. A divisive coach like Stuart may do well but may also be like a ticking time bomb.

I just get the feeling that the club is rotten to the core behind the scenes and untill the board, sponsors and back office staff are all pulling in the same direction it will all end in tears.

Stuart's post rosters win rate aint that much better than furners mate.

as i said, risky appointment to hire stuart. He's no slam dunk to turn the mess around. Good luck to him, i dont envy him at all. If he can turn that shite around he deserves to be crowned GOAT

But look at the raiders team FFS they should at least be a top 4 team! Cronulla had no money a shit team and Ricky as coach.. (Oh wait :sarcasm:)

They still won't make the 8 in 2013.

But I could see Carney and Pearce as their halves in 2014.

Stuart has a lot of origin players who like him, it will be easy for him to recruit.

Your club has apparently had an offer on the table for him for a few weeks now. And according to a very reliable poster in the Eels forum, our offer is less money that what you guys have offered.
