How f**king long does the World Cup go for?
Bourbon says two months, Beetroot head says 8 weeks, now Fox Sports say 6 weeks.
I have it worked out as 5 weeks. A four nations would take at least 3 weeks

Why is it that the England union ratings are half the size of the Ireland and Wales games?

The English RU game was on Sky hence smaller TV figures. But unbelievable the BEEB puts the Wales game on BBC 1 while league is on BBC2. But I also think that may have had something to do with the kick off which was in the evening and up against high rating shows dancing with stars and UK's got talent, I think. So not the best time to have the match. Should have been a arvo kick off.

World cup should be scrapped because Australia players bore easily. You can do better than that News ltd.

"
PERHAPS it's the combination of a long season, the bitterly cold English weather or too many late nights sampling the UK nightlife.

But Billy Slater isn't the only Kangaroos player prepared to throw a punch during Australia's World Cup tour. Tension was at an all-time high last week *between the two most *unlikely players, Maroons teammates Nate Myles and Cameron Smith.
Myles went as far as to challenge Smith "outside" after taking offence to a few of the captain's one-liners. Maroons coach Mal Meninga could do worse than smooth the waters between the pair ahead of next year's Origin series.
Earlier incidents involving Josh Papalli, Slater and now Myles and Smith is enough evidence to suggest that the World Cup is *merely a six-week tour with one serious game of footy at the end. The tournament is two weeks too long and is set-up for players to *entertain themselves in *between matches."

I anticipate a similar article written for the Wallabies tour given 6 of them have been stood down, and 9 warned for the upcoming game. That's basically the whole squad

That's poor organisation by the Kangaroos, surely? Keep your players entertained and your problem is solved.

That's trash 'journalism'. A one liner too far is nothing between friends, especially when nothing more came of it than 'do you want to head outside then?'. That's no incident - that's an afternoon at the pub.

while Paddy Ryan will serve his ban next week in Cardiff because the Wallabies are required to have four props on the bench.

Another incident.

Gee they are really struggling for "incidents" these slob hack media merkins.

Only the News Ltd media could turn the Papalii "incident" into a negative for RL and the World Cup. He was robbed ffs!!!

Don't hear the Kiwis bitching.

Dead set they have 6 days between games and they're a short trip away from so many places that anyone would love to visit. Surely on their off days they could do something interesting.

The Kiwis, Fijians and English squads seem to be bonding more as the tournament goes on. That's what you'd expect.

In terms of Australia, lets face it, since they beat England they haven't faced a game which they have been at any risk of losing even if they all went out on the lash the night before. Fiji aren't going to trouble them except physically.

I'd fully expect that once they get past the semi the Kangaroos will entirely refocus as a group. I for one really can't blame their experienced players if they've only been looking to the final for the last few weeks.

Not that Ive been reading it lately, but I wouldnt be surprised if the DT has a 2 page spread of the Slater incident, and one little headline on the World Cup.

The Slater incident has certainly overshadowed the tournament itself recently, but when the next match comes along Im sure it will be forgotten.

Its good reading those TV figures in England, shows hows much interest it is over there.

Looks like we might have a record crowd at Wembley.

Will be interesting to see what the TV ratings will be this weekend, and furthermore, if England make the final at Old Trafford.

Petero has been good for Fiji, not only on the field but off the field as well.

Its good he'll still be involved with the NRL and also his intentions for Fiji Rugby League.
