RLW released it's last publication today for the year..

Looked at a heap of things for the coming season. A great read - go and buy it..

Good to see their best Knights team has the following spine..

1. McDonnell
6. Mullen
7. Kidley
9. De Gois

Now, I've said this since the semis, but all the keyboard coaches have disagreed..Hmmmm...Who to take note of..

Blokes who are paid to report on League and pretty much breathe the game and the stats..??

..Or the armchair professionals who apparently know it all...

Probably the fans who have a vested interest in the team and watch each and every game closely as opposed to the journalists and writers who watch the free to air games and see the results of the other games, these blokes are the types who think Gidley is our only player and probably haven't heard of Zeb Taia.

So some geek who did a journalism course in the middle of nowhere and probably doesn't even follow the Knights copy/pasted the team from the end of last year.

Congrats Coastbloke, did you go down on him after?

Haha wow. You really think that much of RLW reporters? It would have been some geek who doesn't even follow the Knights closely and copy/pasted the team at the end of last year.

If you want to go on your questionable "credentials", I could find a few articles where the Knights coach states he wants Beau Henry at 7.

It's not exactly Phil Gould or Wayne Bennet writing these articles. Didn't Jobdog almost get a gig at RLW?

Big League wasn't it?

There are some decent writers on RLW, but those season previews are generally divided amongst a host of different writers who have little to no involvement with the club and as mozza said only have a basic education on certain players.

Big League aren't any better either, this year's season preview had Uate missing out on the starting side.

A number of these 'armchair professionals' are arguably closer to the team than these journos are also...

You'd be mad to change the only 'successful' part of the season we had this year..

And that's Kidley at 7..

Beau can go to NSW Cup or sit in the stands and watch Kidley to see how it's done..

I notice the experts all had a go but didn't jot down their own 'spine'

That might be because it is a bit up in the air at the moment, given Henry will miss most of the preseason (which increases the chances of you getting to see Gidley at #7 again) and of course is untested in the NRL.

1. Gidley
6. Mullen/Rogers
7. Henry/Mullen
9. De Gois

Would go for Kev or even wes over Shannon, but the only halves combination that could win a premiership next season would be Kidley/Mullen - and i think we should at least start the season like we are a chance to win.

What the hell is wrong with both this journo and Coastbloke, to even consider McDonnell over Gids is shocking. Playing Kurt in the halves was a quick-fix option that Stone HAD to use to keep the team's chances alive, it was our last resort and we are lucky that it paid off for those few weeks but it sure as hell should not be a long term decision.

I think it's safe to say that we all agree Gids' best position is fullback, his last line of defence is the best in the business and I feel his attack is at its finest when he can roam around and get involved on both sides of the field (which he cant do at halfback.) He has to stay in the #1 and let Henry prove himself from the get go. I'd keep Wes or Rogers on hand for the first month so if Henry breaks down Wes can go to fullback and move Gidley to the halves or a straight swap Rogers in for Henry. Also the plus side of this is both Naiqama & Rogers can play in the forwards if Henry doesn't need to come off so no interchange will be wasted.

Amazing..

The combination I advocate gave us the best few weeks of the year and it's getting a beating because of a few twisted McDonnell haters..

As such, we have the quite strange situation where a forum of alleged Knights fans would prefer not to have the best team on the park because...god knows why....??

Maybe they just can't stand being wrong..As I said the results speak for themselves..Build a bridge and get over it..

Unbelievable..Knights fans preferring a losing team over a winning one..Who'd have thought it..
