Can't believe that neither Farah or ballin r playing today.

We r not getting much benefit from having 2 1st grade hookers in our squad.

Anyway we have an uphill battle now w/out a specialist hooker against a formidable pack like the chooks in these terrible conditions.

Is Ballin injured?

Should we sign Isaac De Gois just so we can a first grade hooker who can actually get on the pitch?

So Taylor agrees that he is not using Farah properly.

Lol.

It is funny isn't it. Our halves are so inconsistent as well. Brooks has been beyond ordinary with the ball so far. Moses has been good but not great. Brooks defence has been good but Moses made a bad mistake defensively.

Maybe move Naiqama to the wing, MCK next to Brooks and drop Nofo...

I think Naiqama offers more in attack and is better under the high ball...

It's definitely time Kev had a stint in state cup.We can't continue to carry him & his appalling defensive reads in 1sts.

Moses & brooks need to spend much extra time @ training to improve there appalling kicking games coz if there isn't a massive improvement over the next 12 mths they will not get close to there current salary again.

I don't mind kev in first grade. But he has never been a centre. He can only play as a winger

Jason Taylor refuses to guarantee Robbie Farah will return to Wests Tigers team after 'resting'
Michael Chammas

Robbie Farah's future at the Wests Tigers is again up in the air after coach Jason Taylor refused to guarantee he would be recalled next week following the hooker being "rested" for Sunday's loss against the Roosters.
Farah was a notable omission from the Tigers 32-18 loss to the Sydney Roosters at a water-logged Allianz Stadium on Sunday afternoon, given the weekend to recover after Wednesday night's Origin opener at ANZ Stadium considering he also suffered a heavy concussion three weeks ago.
The Tigers have won four of six games without Farah, who was believed to be disappointed with Taylor's decision to rest him on Sunday, winning just one of seven with the Blues rake in the side. Taylor and Farah insist they have put their differences aside after a tumultuous off-season in the headlines, but Taylor's refusal to guarantee the hooker a spot against the Rabbitohs next Friday night has once again cast doubt over their relationship.
"I assume so," Taylor said when asked if Farah would slot straight back into the team.
"We'll look at that. Each week stands on its own. We'll work out exactly what's happening next week with our team."
When pressed on the whether the decision to play Farah would be based on his health or team chemistry, Taylor said: "Both things".
The veteran dummy half was told to pack his bags last year, threatened with the prospect of playing NSW Cup if he didn't walk away from the final two years of his lucrative contract at the club. It's been forgiven but not forgotten from Farah's point of view, and up until this week it seemed as though their working relationship was just fine.
But when back-up hooker Matt Ballin withdrew with a knee injury, and Farah wasn't allowed to play five days after Origin one, questions were asked of Taylor's reasoning behind leaving the NSW No.9 out of the side.
"We just thought it was the right thing right from the start and continued to believe it was the right thing," Taylor said.
"It was really important to have a strong team through the middle of the field there today. Just with what Robbie has been through the last couple of weeks we just thought that was right.
"Elijah's defence and just bringing Josh Aloiai into the middle of our field was a strong way for us to start today and that's what we went with."
Farah has attracted interest from English Super League clubs as recently as last month, but the 32-year-old wants to see out his career a one-club man.
His omission coincided with the return of James Tedesco from a shoulder injury, just in time to press his claims for a NSW jersey for game two.
Tedesco was in the box seat for the No.1 jersey before injuring his shoulder, with his coach adamant he is the best of what Laurie Daley has to choose from.
"It's one that everyone wants to engage in but I don't know what the selectors will do there," Taylor said.
"I know he's the best fullback in NSW but whether they want to pick him or not, it's up to them. He was very impressive. The guys voted him as our players' play in that match. I think that game would have been a lot tougher without him back there the way he handled some of those kicks."
His opposite number, Latrell Mitchell, was unable to finish the match after picking up an ankle injury that could see him sidelined for anywhere between four to eight weeks.
Jackson Hastings starred in his return, given another crack at the halfback position following the late withdrawal of Mitchell Pearce (calf), who is racing the clock to be fit for next week.

FARAH TO BE RELEGATED TO BENCH

Robbie Farah has been named to start at hooker for the Wests Tigers this week but Fox Sports’ chief NRL reporter James Hooper believes that won’t happen.

Hooper is confident Farah will start on the bench in what is another twist to the strained relationship with coach Jason Taylor.

“The talk out of Wests Tigers today is Robbie Farah was training more with the bench players; Dene Halatau will most likely start in the No. 9 jumper,” Hooper told NRL Tonight.

“I don’t know what Jason Taylor thinks he is going to achieve by treating one of his senior players with this gross lack of respect, but he’s decided he wants to play a few games that he perhaps picked up under Brian Smith.

“This could well get a lot worse before it gets better.”

A couple of points I'd make on the current Farah situation:-

1. I hope that it gives Robbie a rest and he plays well when he comes on.
2. I hope that JT isn't doing this just to play games.
3. I don't want to read any dummy spits from Farah in the paper.
4. I hope that this ends after origin and it is honestly about resting Robbie.

I think it's just JT playing games designed to do stuff that has no relevance to winning games.

Why isn't Cherrington playing?

Find me a person other than JT who thinks Halatau is a better 9 than him.

My point being, i don't think there's bad blood between Farah and JT. I think JT simply has no idea how best to utilise creative hookers. How else do you explain Halatau and Ballin getting picked ahead of Cherrington?

If he doesn't learn soon, we'll lose Cherrington and Liddle.

That is why Taylor needs to go. This year. Results are one thing, but alienating the juniors is unforgivable. We've already lost Martin.

I think we can almost take it as given that Cherrington is gone. Circumstances seem strongly like JAC'S being unannounced for so long. Would you consider Liddell is up to the task?

No chance Liddell is ready. We threw Luani in the deep end and ruined him.

You gotta ease these guys in, especially hookers. Farah got eased in.

We can't lose Farah, Ballin and Cherrington in one go. The first two, fine. But losing Cherrington will hurt big time, as it means we'll start next season either with an untested rookie about to debut, a makeshift hooker or having to spend cap money on a rake with nrl experience.

Woeful management. I f**king knew this would happen. This is what signing Ballin has done to us. It's Taylor's fault and no one elses. He tried to pull off a powerplay and now it could see him needing Farah when we should be letting him go, demoting Cherrington which made him unhappy and want to leave and now Ballin may have to retire.

If Jason Taylor chooses to "play a few games he perhaps picked up under Brian Smith" well then I hope Robbie Farah decides to take a leaf out of David Fa'alogo's book.

An open letter to Mark O'Neill, General Manager Football:

Dear Mark, fix the problem that you have at West Tigers.

After all, you have stepped in previously and showed who's boss
In a move that firmly put Jason Taylor in his place and showed the players who is in charge, new Head of Football O'Neill overruled the coach by scrapping the strict wheat and alcohol-free diet he implemented late last year.
The Sunday Telegraph can reveal O'Neill had beer and pizza delivered to the Tigers’ dressing room following their loss to the Titans on the Gold Coast last weekend in a move being applauded by the players.

Plus you were reportedly appointed with responsibility for
all recruitment, retention and the Tigers head coach.

Hear hear old time tiger

Geez we desperately require buckets to swiftly make the necessary & obvious decisions !!

I'm sick of this club being in the doldrums & forever allowing the vile rugby league media to go to town on us !

When is this club going to start conducting its business with professionalism & judiciousness !

How I'd luv to bump into that despicable grub Mayer right now !!

What concerns me most about the Fox story is how many clubs are chasing Marsters. I was hoping we'd keep him....have to keep some of these young guns.
