well fact remains that he's sitting infront of Oake, Smith, Weller, Horo, Lewis and Wright in the pecking order, his workrate is high, he's up to the speed of first grade and plays alot of minutes...

maybe those players at the club that are less scrutensied should do that??

Yeah, but it's not Todd Lowrie's fault he is no good.

I'm just sick of these predictable threads after EVERY game, even when we've played well the Lowrie bashing is on.

We're stuck with him, he probably wont be here next year, and if he gets another deal in the NRL it will likely be peanuts, so people should just get over it. We have much bigger problems than Todd Lowrie.

THANKYOU

recruitment, retention making sure the players that are coming through the grades are actually good enough for the NRL standard.

This is a major problem that we have, last 5 years our reserve grade team has been awesome but that is reserve grade, and you think when they come into first grade they will improve and our team will win ...

2005, 2006, 2007 the young guys are filtering through now, not all of them are of a 1st grade standard ... this is where we are shooting ourselves in the foot, look at guys that have left us to become better players because they are in a system that helps them improve our first grade system has been on the slide for ages ...

we have guys that are 22 - 26 years old that will not improve in our team because we have no players that they can learn off and they can actually be pushed ... we are going to recruit we need some experienced players that need a challenge and some new guys that will want to learn that is the catch 22 ...

Lowrie is a coach killer. he drops the ball at vital times and is the worst lock we have ever had. The sooner he leaves the better. At least then my ulcer will stop flaring up.

Hagan should be shot.

I think Lowrie suffers from increased visibility for us fans. We've got our eye on him and we're looking for flaws.

I was surprised to review his stats from the Sharks game because I had the impression immediately after the game that he had had a shocker. I was sure he had dropped the ball 47 times, missed 31 tackles and gave away 14 penalties.

In this way, perceptions can be very unfair ... but that doesn't mean he's a great footballer and that our frustrations (in general) aren't justified.

I agree, though, that Lowrie isn't the problem. Even the fact that he is reportedly earning a lot more than someone demonstrating his skill level should be isn't his fault (what ... he's going to say "I don't think I'm worth that much" in a negotiation).

i think lowrie would be betta suited off the bench
DA has been using him as a 60, 70 even sometimes an 80 minute
player and his makin mistakes off fatigue. as for robson in the off season
if he works with andrew johns we will see a very different player in 2010
tautai he has to go no question.

what annoys me most about Lowrie is the fact we had a local junior in Zeb Taia waiting in the lower grades, Hages decides to sign Lowrie for decent money and lets a local junior leave. 2 years on Lowrie has shown no improvement what so ever, and Zeb is one of the form backrowers in the comp

Allow me to preface this by saying that I am not a huge fan of Lowrie's (although I do support him, seeing as he wears my club's colours).

Taia has had the fortune of playing in a fairly good pack - Paterson, Simpson, Buderus (De Gois now) and their props (can't recall their names) are all handy players.

Meanwhile Todd plays alongside Ben Smith....Joe Galuvao (love the bloke but he's no Steve Simpson or Corey Paterson)...Weller Hauraki...Brendan Oake (whom I have no problems with tbh)...

No, Todd hasn't set the world on fire. But come on - he's part of a woeful pack of forwards and has also had a bare minimum of time with our new coach; Taia has now had the luxury of a few seasons under Super Smithy.

yeah taia is definently a good player with ease betta then lowrie.
but todd drops the ball juz takin a hit up and struggles to even make 5 metres every hit up. now u cant blame that on our poor pack or lack of time with the coach.

Why not?

Newcastle:

Hit-up #1: Simpson
Hit-up #2: Paterson
Hit-up #3: Prop
Hit-up #4: Taia

By hit-up 4, each of the guys has made10 metres and the defensive line is backpedalling.

Parramatta:

Hit-up #1: Moimoi
Hit-up #2: Cayless
Hit-up #3: Hindmarsh
Hit-up #4: Lowrie

Moimoi gets gang-tackled; Cayless gets manhandled; Hindy is buggered from 50 tackles. Leaving Lowrie - who runs straight into 4 guys who have ample time to smash him. He promptly loses the pill.

Not saying Lowrie is a world-beater, but I guarantee you he would play far, far better in a decent pack.
