Interesting statistics.

Those statistics do show that he is being used to do a lot more tackling in our team than he ever was at the Cowboys - he made more tackles for us in 2017 than in any year with the Cows.

His runs and running metres are less, but on those statistics it would seem we are using him as more of a defensive forward?

Our backs are used more than other teams. Especially the backend of halves

Our backs run 5 times harder than Tamou.

If he played for any other team he would be called for the soft pea hearted pussy he is. The same people who are happy to shit talk forwards twice as good as him are the ones making excuses for him.

He was once good enough to be rated as one of ghe games besg props snf its not unreasonable to expect him to play like it. There's no reason at all he shouldn't be. The only thing stopping him is what he's willing to put in for us. Which is not 100%.

His defensive output is only up slightly. His missed tackles have basically doubled and his metres are down considerably.

He's getting worse in the years he should be reaching his peak. His form has dropped so much his name isnt even on an extended list for an Origin jersey anymore. A few years back this guy was a workhorse front rower bending the line making 150 metres a game pretty regularly and the first forward picked for NSW

That's the form that earned him rep jerseys and the wage he is now collecting. He should be in his prime right now delivering that and more for us. Unlike Breny Kite we didnt sign him.on the verge of retirement.

Many forwards don't run hard. Some are there to defend, some do quick play the balls... Not every player is the same
Many forwards arent on elite forward money. If he was on the same coin as lets say Clay Priest no one would be giving him shit. He is taking up a fair chunk of our cap. He needs to run hard, get quick play the balls and defend like a demon for the elite forward money he is receiving. How can you Tamou defenders not see this?

If he was on 200k then he would be considered an above average toiler. 300k he would be someone hitting the mark. He is on much much more & just not delivering what he has shown he is capable of.

And some are just there to get paid.

We signed him based on the quantity and quality of his work for the Cowboys. For his experience and to be the leaderof our pack. We paid him enormous money for that.

He's not delivering anything remotely close to that for us. He's not a defensive rock. He's not a workhorse. Hes not an impact player that dominates the middle. He's just a standard benchie getting through his shift until the likes of Mez and RCG return.

I'm sorry but thats not good enough. He's capable of so much more. He gets paid for so much more. So I will continue to hold him to the standards he set for himself while at the Cowboys.

He should be our best forward. Or atleast give us reason to debate that he is.

OK, how much is he on? How much is Klemmer on? How much is Woods on? We don't actually know how much anybody is being paid so all this criticism is based on guesswork.

I think we can make a solid guesstimate.

Given he was a rep player, moved away from a successful team & the reported figures, I’d say he’s on somewhere between 600k to 800k.

Obviously the reported figures are rubbery, and I’d be surprised if it was 800k, but even at 600k he’s overpaid.

Hopefully somehow Gus can work his magic and move him on.

Interesting especially when Tamou plays the least minutes

I couldnt give a shit how much Sharon & Klemmer are on. It doesnt affect our cap.
None of us know for sure exactly what he is on, but lets be conservative and call it 700k. We are all aware it has been reported as much higher. Does anyone think he is worth that money? On value to the team that makes Sauce worth at least 900k. He is on a third of that. Or f we look at other props, based purely on what they give on the field, who would you take? Vaughn, Packer or Tamou? Vaughn and Fudge would be on decent coin, but I doubt its the same as as Tamou. I used Vaughn and Fudge because they have both moved on from the clubs where they started to show above average form. They have both maintained or exceeded the form they showed at previous clubs to reflect there payday, Tamou hasnt gone close to his Cowboy form for us, yet still gets paid for it. He isnt a terrible player for us, but he is well short of any kind of value.

Tim Glasby, Shannon Boyd and Paulo are all rumoured to be offered $800k. That would make Tamou on market value not on overs... If you believe the figures

Not by Penrith. Some clubs have to pay overs to get what they need. We dont.

Educated guess at least. GF winner after the GF year, NSW rep, Australian rep. Interstate move. That doesn't come cheap.

That would also mean he is attractive to sponsors for TPA's. Adam Blair was rumoured to be signed for more. Boyd, Paulo and Glasby offered more. Rumours of Wallace being offered 800k too.

So if the rumours are true we paid market value... If we have him on the books for $500k instead. Much better off publicly listing what players are on the cap for would solve this

I guess the fact that the major reason Tamou came to Sydney was his wife wanted to be closer to family is convenient to forget so that some posters on here can support their argument...

$800k is market value now yes but 2 years ago? Would we even want him for that market value now? He definitely seems to be slowly on the out as our young forwards start to come up. Particularly Leota/Hetherington.

No way his manager let's him sign for less due to this. He was still a rep forward who would've been offered by a few clubs in sydney.
