ok, I'll make this simple, Do all of you Tamou apologists believe that he is a good value player for us? Just quote this post and provide a simple yes or no answer.

$800k is market value now yes but 2 years ago? Would we even want him for that market value now? He definitely seems to be slowly on the out as our young forwards start to come up. Particularly Leota/Hetherington.

He was signed to help the younger guys come along. Ellis, Leota etc all mention him helping them. I expect he won't get re-signed but we won't have such a young team to warrant hin

Tamou’s just an easy target because many didn’t want him here in the first place.

He’s crucial part of a pack that’s dominating every week irrespective of what he’s getting paid.

I was excited about his signing.

Nothing wrong with this. The team is starting out grow him if this is the case.

One thing from the game I forgot to mention was that the ground announcer completely messed up the game time.
He put a big shout out “ Come on Newcastle 15 minuets left!”
On the next play Maloney kicked the field goal, with 25 to go.
I am certain he was influenced by the idiot on the Mic.

Maybe but it was a good play. Newcastle didn't see it coming so no pressure and we get possession from the kick off.

Interesting especially when Tamou plays the least minutes

These statistics seem to reinforce the conclusion that can be drawn from the career statistics that mx posted earlier - namely, that Tamou has been given a different role with our team than he had with the Cowboys and is being used more as a defensive forward than a meter eater.

If you break it down by minutes on the field I'd say Tamou's numbers would show he could actually be leading the pack on both ends.

Any statisticians out there who could confirm whether it is so?

WOW! There needs to be an investigation!
Tamou isn't holding his own in our pack

Was May actually good? I couldn't watch because of work but the match review only mentioned him catching and falling over the line basically.

Not simple though is it? Value depends on how much he costs. We don't know that.

In any case, according to reports, he has been a mentor for the forwards off the field. Showing the young guys how hard they need to train and how to prepare for games. The sort of stuff that comes from experienced players who have played at the highest level. There was a price to pay for that experience and given how young our squad was, it was money well spent.

I don't believe it's a coincidence that since he joined our forwards have improved in fitness and attitude.

The premise that Tamou is paid too much with numbers like $800k thrown around is, of course, pure speculation. It is speculation that requires us to believe that Gus would pay a prop $800k. Gus is no judge of CEO's, but he knows how to manage the cap.
