I’m going to be petty here, but this is a pet peeve of mine.

Resign = to quit

Re-sign = to stay

Also it makes no sense we’d re-sign Burton before Luai, they’re both off contract at the same time and Luai is the current starter.

The powers that be have indicated publicly they are well down the track in negotiations to re-sign (my gaff) Matt Burton.

I am equally sure they are negotiating with Jerome Laui even if there hasn’t been any official announcements as such.

We will re-sign both of that I am confident and at the end of the day Burton will overtake Jerome who will be a great back up.

Both those sides have had grinding wins like that through the season. Given the circumstances all that matters is the 2 points

Bellamy and Robinson have both been unhappy after wins. It's only fans who say you are obligated to shut up and be happy after winning. I'm loving being 1st and the new attitude of the team. It's a much more mature club this year. I'm also one of the only people to predict Nathan's success. It's wonderful but doesn't exclude wanting to be better.

One of the two will leave the club, maybe not next year but soon after. They’re both good enough to be starters in the NRL, no way Luai hangs around to be a backup.

I understand people’s frustrations that Burton isn’t getting game time, if he isn’t going to get time today he’s clearly going to have to wait until there’s an injury in the halves or Luai’s form really drops away. Maybe if Crichton got injured he could be tried at left centre. There’s no other way into the team.
