You would hope that this is as bad as it gets. Absolute rock bottom. Good to see us cross the line a few times this week. That's a positive.

Anyone ths thinks you wouldn't have one the match except for that Houston penalty is a f**kwit you were rolling them.

I understand this is a little of topic so I wont take it any further than this.

You asked for it, here it is.

1.Jarryd Hayne
2.Aku Uate
3.Michael Jennings
4.Jamal Idris
5.James Mcmanus
6.Jarrod Mullen
7.Jamie Soward
8.Paul Gallen
9.Robbie Farah
10.Keith Galloway
11.Beau Scott
12.Luke Lewis
13.Greg Bird

14.Danny Buderus
15.Ben Creagh
16.Aaron Woods
17.Willie Mason

Criticise all you like but the fact is they wouldnt be any worse than the sides chosen over the last 6 years.

Personally, no Knight would enter my thoughts for origin. Ever. However, Aku deserves his spot. Hope he is ready to be targeted again.

Idris is not fit enough or good enough to play centre in Origin. Galloway is a plodder like the bloke we bought from Cronulla. Beau Scott has performed at this level but not playing well enough to replace any of the chosen backrow.

Should have, could have, would have.

50 points against them.

You can interpret many little things like that in a game and we have lots of little things we do that add up to give the result we had today. They'll come good if they do the simple things right and play with some heart. At the moment they are not doing either. Therefore, they lose. Simple.

We have got to be the most schizo team in the comp

The first 20 we look like riding the highway to flog town, the next 40 we fight our way back and open the opposition up like a can of sardines, finally the last 15-20 we fall apart and show absolutely no respect for the jumper at all

Its an improvement on last week but jeezus its tough to follow this team at times

I seriously did not realise it was possible for a team to be so brilliant and so shit in the space of 80 minutes - it's incredible.

Ok, the positives - we scored 24 points and they weren't bumbling efforts or lottery plays from a bomb.

We played for half a game and not a quarter of the game like most of the season.

Boyd was good and linked well with Mullen and Buderus.

The negatives:

You simply cannot give a team 24-points head start and expect to run them down.

Chris Houston - what the f**k were you thinking? I understand you're only looking out for your mate and I admire that, but you simply do not give the referee any possible reason to give the opposition a penalty when you're in possession.

Uate was very average today I thought, especially in defence.

Our defence as a whole on our goal line was borderline inept. We conceded 48 points in 40 minutes (the first 20 and the last 20) - that's simply not good enough.

He'll be under pressure for future rep selection if his side opens up like it did in game 1. He is being targeted too often now.

Uate's confidence is getting lower, his inside men aren't making it easier for him, but the more trys conceded down that side and his confidence will continue to drop, which is a shame because he was making some good decisions on when to rush out or stay back.

I'm starting to think we need to move McKinnon to right centre inside Aku. He is not making much impact playing in the middle but he has some really good attributes of a FG centre, barring a yard or two of pace.

We are killing our best attacking weapon by playing useless numpties inside of him

I wouldn't be against that JW!

1 Boyd
2 Uate
3 McKinnon
4 Tahu
5 McManus

Gagai the new #1 backup to any of the positions.

Bennett says more pain for Knights fans

An unwavering Wayne Bennett has warned impatient Newcastle fans they may have to endure even more pain as he strives to make the club a long-term NRL force.

While perplexed Parramatta coach Stephen Kearney is struggling for answers to the last placed Eels' woes, seven-time premiership winning mentor Bennett has 26 seasons of experience to call on.

Throwing his hands in the air or tossing in the towel is not part of Bennett's make up and after Newcastle's fourth straight loss -- and a hefty 50-24 scoreline to boot -- he was even more dogmatic he could, and would, turn the club's fortunes around.

"I haven't coached for 26 years in the NRL to not know what works," said Bennett, amazed his "fragile" players were able to get back from 24-0 in the first half to still be in the game 26-24 midway through the second half.

"My challenge is to get them to buy into what I know works.

"I made the choice when I went there I didn't want them to finish eight or ninth every year.

"We're not interested in that.

"We're driving to be a top team and setting up a system that will make them a top club for a long period of time.

"If it takes some pain now then we'll take the pain and we'll keep taking the pain until we get it right.

"You look at the Broncos and that's what they've produced, they've produced it for 25 years.

"You look at the (Melbourne) Storm they've produced the same thing, year after year, week after week.

"That's where we want to be."

Bennett may be starting to sound like a broken record but it's in that unbreakable resolve and belief that he has always found strength.

"They (players) have to experience what I know and what I know works," he said.

"I've been here so many times and I'm not second guessing myself about it.

"That's what experience gives you.

"We all know where we're going and more importantly I know where we're going."

Meanwhile, Bennett declined the opportunity to take a shot at his former club who refused to clear youngster Dane Gagai to play on Sunday.

"Those reports were accurate," said Bennett when asked if Brisbane had blocked Newcastle's attempts to get a clearance for the released Bronco.

"They were playing within the rules."

All I can say is at least it didn't rain.

I was ready to walk out of Suncorp after 20... Got so into it during the next 40...crushed during the final 20.

Glad we did show some form in attack. I just don't understand where our defense has gone the last 2 weeks. Why can't we defend well AND attack well in the same game?
