Nobody said he's a good coach, we are saying that a coach needs years before you can accurately judge him. That means you can't say he's good or bad after only two seasons. He needs time to make his changes.

Instead the coach is an easy scapegoat for emotional fans and under pressure administrators. So he gets the sack and you miss a year of recruitment/retention.

Agree 3 yrs is the time to do it......Must show something in that time.This year we have been in every game till the 60th minute.Most till the 70th.And 3-4 till the 80th and still lost.

In hindsight he would have been a better pick than Alvaro, and better in our defensive line than Sandow. But then we're stuck with only one kicker.

Pauli is the bloke you want on the field when you're chasing points, and not any other time.

We had a curved defensive line, and sometimes a diagonal line.

It had nothing to do with individuals. It was complete lack of structure, leadership and coaching.

It was Moeroa shitting himself with Sandow on his outside.

And they were definitely out of puff. Hence why the attack dropped off the face of the earth.

I notice you don't mention Ryan "very good defender" in your analysis.

Just because a player can play the full 80 doesn't mean they should be out there for that duration. When players become fatigued they make errors and I think that is what happened with Moeroa; I felt he should have been given a rest - at least for 10 minutes.

And he was. That's when Pauli came on.

Anyway Lussick is back next week. He would have added to our defensive intensity and maybe given away a few penalties smashing merkins.

The thing is in the modern game you don't get that much time - every coach knows that. If you don't get your team winning or show signs of improvement within 12-18 months in the job then your going to get punted. You may have a point in saying that coaches are an easy scapegoat but like I've said, it is their job to get the team winning; its just the way that the sport works.

Because I predicted it. We scored enough points to beat Manly twice but because our defence had us behind on the scoreboard with ten to go, I knew some idiot would come in whinging about how shit our attack was. You never fail to disappoint.

It was mainly shit because the team was out on their feet the last 10mins. That probably can happen when you play with 15 men.

It was shit because the Cowboys were fresh from having all the ball and fired up and confident and defending very well, like they've been doing every week.

Our attack was fine. It scored 30 points in 80 minutes.

Do you not think it was bit too late when that change was made? I thought Brad Arthur could have been a bit more proactive and brought on Pauli a lot earlier. In stating that, I think Arthur's rotation of his forwards has been at the very least questionable all season.
