I remember this conversation from last year, you’ve always gotta take the automatic second week option. Melbourne in Melbourne would be extremely tough, but playing in those games is actually good for the teams development.

This. First step is to start playing those games more often, second is learn how to win them.

Winterstein should of got more minutes, terrific again. I think I would of rested Kikau the last 20. Surely no one can question his inclusion now.

Leota too was probably underused. Can only assume he’s trying to play RCG into form.

We turned down two easy penalty goals last night that would’ve put us up by 6 and then 12 which is a Clear change from what weve been doing all year, I like if. Even it didn’t work out for us both times last night I think it’s good play considering our forvand against.

He's actually going ok surprisingly. Never heard a Manly fan say a single good thing about him and they we ecstatic when he left

Yeah winterstein has been a find imo, he makes linebreaks for fun, is a great defender and doesn’t give away penalties or make many errors from memory.

Canberra have an easy draw. I can't see them not getting 4th

Isaiah Yeo’s defence was brilliant in the middle last night, his one on one tackling in particular. If we just had a prop capable of breaking the line consistently we’d have a perfect middle rotation with jfh, Yeo and Tamou all playing well. Just lacking explosiveness atm.

That's a sign of our confidence. Willing to back our attack. Getting better at creating space out wide. Amazing how much space there can be when a team gets some nice crisp long passes to the edges.

They still do drop games here and there, but next week is critical to any top 4 chances we might have. They've got the Roosters coming up but so do we. My feeling is that if we can make the top 4 it will be at the expense of the Roosters, but we'd nearly have to win every game.

For and against will be the killer. We need to get an extra win. Given the draws of Parra and Manly we can jump them. Not so sure about higher up. Depends on teams like Dragons upsetting teams

Luai can fill that void to an extent. Winterstein does the ugly work early then Luai plays the last 30 with his speed and footwork can cause trouble. Also though Martin still to comeback he is dangerous both sides of the ball

Yeah we actually looked more dangerous with all three halves on the field last night, Luai running the ball confidently adds something for sure.

We needed more attack from somewhere. Your original point was why I said Leinu in for Leota but Martin in for Winterstein will give us 2 edge attecking threats anyway

I definitely prefer Martin on an edge, although that’s only from a limited sample.

Love Yeo but he doesn’t offer much in attack, so perhaps better suited to the middle work horse role.
