Ahhhhhh. Good morning to all my fellow Souths members and fans, and happy game day!! Get up, get moving, rise and shine ahead of a big day. The day has finally arrived, and we take on the Bulldogs tonight in a crucial contest for our Season. Playing the Dogs is always fierce. They are one of our biggest and most traditional rivals, and it's no secret that both clubs don't really like each other. It's a rivalry that stretches back well over 80 years now and honestly, the feeling between the two clubs and the history between the two clubs in that time is worthy of its own Book of Feuds. Plenty of massive. Spiteful games, Finals, Grand Finals, player poaching, it's had the lot. As I said, always a fierce game against them and I expect nothing less tonight.

Looking at Canterbury, it's really hard to get a read on them to be honest, and I don't really know what to expect from them today. There's no doubt they have been really struggling lately and haven't been going well. They got beaten 66-0 by the Knights last week which is crazy. However, I do think we need to beware of the wounded Dog. I think there is bound to be some kind of a bounce back tonight. There has to be. They're too proud of a club not too. I have no doubt in my mind that we'll see them come out and play probably the most fired up they have all year because they'll be extremely desperate to turn that around and they'll be looking for some kind of response. With the players we have missing, they'll probably see this as a great opportunity to not only bounce back with the way they play, but potentially rebound with a win. So we MUST be wary of that, and we MUST weather that. It's no secret, and I mean no disrespect when I say it's no secret, they don't have the best roster or the best line up right now for a number of reasons. Injuries have played their part. However, despite this, there is still some real strike weapons in their side that we need to shut down. The main one is Burton of course; he's got to be one of the main focusses as almost everything comes off him. But also, guys like Averillo, Sexton now, Preston; they all pose a threat.

For us, you could probably say similar to be honest. We don't have the best line up today either, we can't hide from that. Missing nine of our regular 17 because of Origin and suspension, and most of them are literally all our big guns. So, there's no doubt that's made this game much more even and it's squared the ledger right up to the point where I think it could be anyone's game. A positive of this though, is that there should be no complacency from us tonight. We are not in a position to be complacent and think 'easy win.' Full strength I'd maybe think that, but certainly not with who we're missing. We cannot take them lightly now. Hopefully this means the boys get their attitude right because that's been the biggest thing that's been letting us down in our losses. It came right last week but we need to continue that on. Bring the same attitude and energy, and the rest will take care of itself. Play Rabbitohs Footy, complete your sets, kick to the game plan, focus on defence. If we can get those three main things right, we'll hopefully be okay. I also want to see a real next man up mentality. Tonight is not about who we're missing, it's about the 17 guys that are going to take the field. We still have enough strike out there to get this done and like JD said yesterday, if everyone just goes out there and gives their all, gives a good account of themselves, then the result will take care of itself. Step up lads, now is your time.

The key to winning this is the forward battle. Whoever gets on top there will win, I think. If they can get on top, we may not have the attack to strike on the back foot, but if we get on top, then it makes it a bit easier to limit someone like Burton for them. Our pack is still very, very good so I'm confident the lads can do it through the middle.

In conclusion, I'm actually expecting a really tough game tonight. But it's certainly one we have to get up for. Let's go lads!!! Go and get it done!!

Glory, Glory.

Well Happy Game Day everyone on this chilly but beautiful Saturday. Another big one tonight well they all are now as we head into the back end of the season and with the larger being so tight. Tonight is our second last home game at Accor for the year so we won’t have a game there in 2 months so all the more reason to get out there tonight as we take on the Bulldogs a fierce rival of ours that stretches back many years. We have had many tough and brutal encounters against them over the years and I’m sure tonight will be no different. For us it’s important we win to keep in touch with the top 4 going into a bye the week after so this is a 4 point game. For the Dogs they got disgraced last week and their club has come under scrutiny so no doubt they’ll be much better tonight and desperate.

Looking at the Dogs they still have strike on the park in Mahoney, Burton, new signing Sexton, Avo and strong middles with M. King, TPJ, RFM, Preston etc…….. so they still have ability to turn it on and hurt us big time. For us we have so many outs as we know 8 of our top 17 out and about 12 of our top 30 out we are depleted. But you know what it gives great opportunity to the lads to step up. We will need big games from Lachy and Ta’affe in the spine we will need our senior players of Tom, Tatola, Havili, AJ, Tass etc to all step up too. I’m excited to see Munro in action live as well. Hawkins, Mamozelos, Lovett etc all get opportunities tonight so a big opportunity for these boys. It’ll start in the middle where we need to win the battle, then we will have to get our line speed in defence and kick chase on. Most importantly the boys need to bring a good attitude to our defence and a good energy in general and it’ll go a long way towards winning. Cutting out silly errors will also be important and stopping those offloads. We can’t give Burton space and time as he will hurt us.

Well not long til the players come out here onto Accor Stadium great to see so much Red and Green in the stands here tonight let’s make sure we all make pplenty of noise here tonight for the full 80mins. and get the boys over the line. Let’s make sure everyone watching at home knows this is South Sydney home turf and a South Sydney home game! Also what a proud proud moment tonight for Tom Burgess as he leads the boys out skippering the side tonight!!!

………………. Rabbitohs Members and Rabbitohs Supporters please give a warm South Sydney welcome onto Accor Stadium the Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs………..

Let's stop the nonsense.
Canterbury in reality are a pathetic outfit.
Egregious and allergic to success of any kind, as Stephen .A.Smith would say. And we have belted them for seasons now. Its certainly no rivalry: that died a decade or so ago.
Yes, given the critical absentees, it will be difficult for our lads. However, we know ourselves from dark, past experiences that quickly coming back from conceeding 66 and 48 in consecutive starts is not easy regardless of the outs for the opposition.
I still believe we find a way to win this, mainly through the frowards. And lest we forget we have two dynamic flankers and an experienced pair of centres its simply a matter of the halves playing strongly enough. I'm not sure of the extent of Graham's injury but if he was willing to play in this he could have been the #6 which would have made the contest much more comfortable.

Good Lord's! What a week for proud Brit to lead Souths into battle: https://www.smh.com.au/sport/nrl/go...-lead-souths-into-battle-20230707-p5dml8.html

So proud of Tommy, this is a massive moment in his career tonight. He's always been a leader but now is his chance to be 'the' leader. I hope the boys can get up for him.

Proud moment for AJ too as he'll be captain for the first time in his career as well when Tommy is off.
I’m pumped mate FIRE UP CMMOOONNN 🔥

Ilias gets charged down every single game. Do we not have a halves coach that is teaching him positional and kicking skills FMD

I’m struggling to work out where everyone is playing. Milne is out at right centre, so who is in the forwards?

What makes sense to you?
Funny bro. You’re hilarious.
How about we play players in their positions, Tass is an amazing centre play him there…. You have forwards on the bench play them as forwards.
it isn’t rocket scirnce
