My feelings have gone from utter frustration,to out and out f**king anger.

WTF was that shit? That first half, like the Tits game, comprised of something resembling a team that is fighting to avoid the wooden spoon.

I could spit out what the problems are,and could be. But wasting my time on this lot in moaning about the obvious, has just about lost my patience.

We've blown out to $15 for the premiership, which is generous given that rubbish we showed today.

What a rabble we are.

I’ve said it before and I will say it again, our team is no longer competitive in the forwards.

Whatever has happened, be it injuries, game plans, whatever we are no longer dominating the middle of the field as we did when successfully winning earlier on in the year.

The team has forgotten that you need to go forward before going sideways.

We are soft as f**k across the park and I honestly believe it is because nobody in the team knows their job.

Forwards go forwards before backs go wide,
Wingers don’t need to be throwing offloads, that’s the second rows job if appropriate.
Utilities shouldn’t be fullbacks, hookers should pass the ball quickly.

Every part of our team is upside down, we won’t be winning anymore games until players are given simple game plans and know their role

Ciraldo mentioned that they studied hard by looking at last week's game. If I was the coach,I'd be showing positive videos when we were playing like a team possessed. The last thing you want to show the team was a shit performance.

People have mentioned players receiving passes when their flat footed is because they are not deep enough when running onto pass. Positioning is just too flat, they need to get deeper

This team is crying for a Bellamy type of coach. Every player at the Storm knows exactly what they are expected to do, what they cannot do, and where they should be. I does not mean that they are a robotic, one out team with no creativity, it is just that only a few trusted, reliable, skilled and proven (SMART!) players are allowed to make the risky/creative decisions whilst everyone else is on a relatively tight leash.

That way the team looks organised and seems to be driven by a singular purpose, but with enough creativity and spontaneity in the right positions so as not to be too predictable.

They are our polar opposites. A team of relatively average physically talented, but Smart and disciplined players vs us....extremely talented, but ill disciplined and mostly plain dumb. When watching us play it seems like every single player has a brain snap or two in them, whether it is a stupid offload, not catching the ball, being caught out of position defensively, a silly penalty, a bad play the ball. All the simple things, what some term 1%ers. We do the simple things POORLY. Sometimes against other teams who are not much better our raw talent gets us out of trouble. But good teams mostly get on top of us.

One of the thoughts I had at the game today was that this team has too many 'Chief's, not enough Indians', that ties in quite nicely with the Storm vs Panthers comparison.

No more Griffin arguments from me. We are never going to agree, and we are stuck with what we are stuck with.

Remember the last round last year when we were embarrassed at Brookvale? Who was responsible for the VASTLY improved effort the following week against the same side. I am willing to say it was at least 75% the players. The same can happen next week. The Broncos have done it this week. We came back from an embarrassing loss against Manly to flog the Warriors, who were expecting an easy game. They'll have forgotten that. The Warriors are basically lazy. They'll be execting an easy game again. We may be a laughing stock now but wait until we give the Warriors another flogging. And the Storm reserve grade side after that.

The sort of speech Gus should be rehearsing right about now. I hope after throwing the side under the bus as he has, he can at least find it within himself to go to Auckland with the side next weekend. More likely he'll be in Townsville working for Nine on JT's last home game, this year's spoonbowl. Must have priorities.

To be fair to Gus he has a boss at channel 9 that decides what games he has to call.

Also yes the attitude has been rubbish since origin regardless of who's coaching.

Ciraldo is too soft. Wanted to quit twice when he had a cushy assistant coach role and then sticks up for Gus like a little sook when Hook was sacked. He's just a yes man.

No.

I think it has also exposed the other staff as being shit. All a coach really does in the modern game is manage the staff below him.

We were told the problem was Hook doing everything himself. What if Hook was doing it all himself because the staff are shit?

This is a good point wouldn't say shit but not much experience in the coaching staff . Simple game plan maybe what suits these players best too

It looks to me like our team needs a simple game plan because we certainly can’t handle a complex one.

If I was coaching our team I would have written on the whiteboard:

1. Hold the ball

2. No offloads coming out of trouble

3. Go forward and run straight

4. Go wide off fast play the balls.

5. Look before passing.

Perhaps some would say I am old school and my game plan is under 10s stuff? But it probably would have won us the game today.

A zero tackle we spread it wide. Stupid and Blake knocked on. Back defending our line. 2nd half last tackle RCG played at a ball simply no need. This sort of stuff all adds up

The thing I totally don’t get is that we can see these problems. They are obvious and so are the solutions. Why can’t the coaching staff? Or Gus?

Its a better answer then sticking with Hook. Just like Pearce in Origin.

We ditched a proven big game failure in the hope his replacement won't be. Its a long shot. But our worst case scenario is finishing the season the same way we would have under Hook.
Pearce stood up today and did a fine job. And in defence of Pearce (whom I strongly dislike) he only ever played Origin against the greatest side ever assembled. Put Cleary in against that side, and he gets exposed delux imo.

Back to us - for all his faults, Maloney is such an integral part of this team. We sorely missed him today. In fact, we are f**ked without him.

Wonder what the thinking with Tamou going back to the bench? Been our best prop of late & we got monstered early.

I also don’t know why we didn’t carry a backrower on the bench. CHN has been bang average of late, so has Yeo for that matter. Might be time to give Waddell some minutes, has looked good in Cup.

Ciro seemed to be disappointed by the starting team. I'd be expecting changes next week. My guess is at least Egan and Tamou will start.

Ciro hinted at changing to team. Seems he's going to make them earn their spots. Good on him.

Look at the NSW Cup team that played today? Only Phillips, Crichton and Waddell were top 30.

Look at the 4 in the coaches box. How many are experienced? That is where we have been let down for the last few years

Ellis can play backrow but is very limited in what he offers

It won’t matter who we start with if we complete 40% of our sets and drop most of that ball in our end.

The problem isn’t the choice of starting side. It is players not knowing their role and not knowing when to hold the ball and when to pass.

The biggest issue is Katoa's horrible service putting the team under pressure. Sloppy backline movements and drop balls are caused by this. It's why hooker is such an important position.
