Fair weather racists?

Reading the NRL article it seems to imply that it was just the booing of Inglis.

If that is right then there was nothing racist about it - as I mentioned above the booing was directed to the manner in which the trainer took him off the field, not at Inglis personally. Furthermore, booing isn't a racial slur - players get booed all the time for all sorts of reasons.

Inglis himself complained about actual racial slurs.

Like I said its clear he's here for money but that has never been a issue for him before
Not many players move clubs unless there is more money involved. Attributing 1 of our player's motivation to more money only and saying he doesn't want to be here is crap form - particular while defending a former player that really did not want to be here.

The booing from the crowd was obviously because the stoppage of play had shades of Panthers being called back and robbed of a certain try against Broncos in last years finals series.

Blake broke the tackle and should have been allowed to play on. Instead all momentum is lost and the crowd booed that.

Andrew Johns meanwhile is in the front row yelling some shit out at him.

I really had no idea how bad a ruptured bowel was. Bit of googling didnt help .

If uts only 4 weeks or so thats great news for him. Sounds painful as f**k though.

The rupture itself isn't really the issue, it is when the contents of the bowel end up in your abdominal cavity (i.e your abdominal cavity gets full of shit), then you can rapidly develop blood poisoning.

Given how quickly it was discovered and how quickly he was operated on, and given we are talking about a rupture from a tackle (and not something like a gunshot wound or a stabbing where it might also be necessary to remove some of the bowel), recovery should be pretty quick.

It probably mostly depends on how much they had to cut his abdomen open to find it, or whether they were able to do it with keyhole surgery.

Well it's a consistent ruling at least. Something refs generally struggle with.

Inglis himself complained about actual racial slurs.

Did he? I am struggling to find actual facts on the incident. Has Inglis himself actually said that someone said something? SMH is saying there was a slur, but doesn't identify who complained of it, and NRL.com makes no mention of a slur, but only refers to the booing.

So Maloney wants a payrise at Sharks. They wont give it to him. So he wants out of the Sharks and then signs with us for a 30% payrise and Im a hypocrite on his motivations for signing with us?

Get your hand off it. Money was his primary concern. It's well documented.

Im not saying their weren't other factors. But the fact is he left Sharks because he wanted more money. If he was happy with his salary he doesn't leave. It's as simple as that.
Your words were he didn't want to be here and it was only for the cash. None of this has been heard from the player.

You're pretty quick to shoot down media as a reliable source when it suits you. Maybe make it easy on the rest of us and advise which media we can rely on and which we can't.

The frustrating thing with you is you have no problem being hypocritical and shifting goalposts.

Gus says it here.

Maloney did publicly complain about wanting more money.
Sure, but did he say his sole reason for coming to Panthers was cash and he didn't want to be at the club otherwise? This the crux of the issue I'm debating with MX. Inferring motivation of 1 of our current players without any word from the player to this regard.

Particularly when posters have been critical in applying the same rationale in the Bryce discussion.

I'll have to take his word for it on league life when he said it was the roster. If it's fair for Bryce it's fair for Maloney.

That is what I used to read up

Maloney is a great player, he’s highly critical of his own performances and I know he’ll come good. The pass he dropped from Cleary was at his head and in traffic but he’ll be better for it.

Merrin on MMM noted how important he’s been on the field. He’s been vital for setting up our forwards and has taken plenty of heat off Cleary. Vocal in keeping the boys heads up throughout the game and for all the criticism he’s copped about penalties and his defence he seems to have silenced that noise.

Also, credit where it’s due, Tamou did a lot yesterday.

35 Tackles, 10 hit ups, 90m (considering the heat), 4 tackle busts, no errors and one bullshit penalty. Notably he cover defended three crucial plays.

I also want to point out that Griffin interchange use was very good. I did however notice the ineffectiveness of RCG starting and having to weather the heat and the big Souths pack but overall I always felt our fitness and skill would get us home.

Wallace said the same thing about him last week

A little surprised Peachey was played so late in the match. Griffin can't do that every week surely.
I would have thought 5 - 10 before half-time would have been the best time to introduce him off the bench.
A little lucky this time around with his input.
CHN needs more time on ground too.
Still happy to be 2/2

Peachey said after the game he expected little gametime. Said he wants that role but needs fitness to play longer. CHN would be the same due to no pre season

Thats the point OP. MX (and others) went to great lengths to argue it wasn't fair for Bryce - then he's done the same thing against Maloney.

You can't preach it then not do it. Hence, pot, kettle, black.

Good to see Griffin use the bench to our strengths. I thought it was smart with the heat.

No one gives a shit that Jimmy is a self confessed mercenary. As long as the form justifies the cash. So far it doesnt. If he comes good, and we all hope he does, Umina will be be making his Mrs wear a Maloney mask to get him in the mood come finals time. The only reason he is getting heat is that he hasnt played great footy in over a year. And if anyone thinks he moved to Penrith for any reason other than financial is delusional.
